Roll Call: Sydney (#AFCNLU)

I’m a member at The Ridge but always happy to travel for a round

Do you play any midweek? I live 10min from The Ridge and have been meaning to get out for Tue or Thur comp.

I generally play earliest comp slot i can get on a Saturday or the sunday morning 9 hole comp. Been trying to get into the wed morning 9 hole before work but it fills up really quick.

Biggest drawback of the place is how popular it is - where do you play most of your golf?

I play at New South Wales GC. Try to play early Friday morning when I can (two young kids) and keep most weekends free.

I imagine NSW doesn’t have the same problems with overcrowding.

Well if you’re ever keen for a round somewhere always happy to tee it up!

Post-Covid, you’d be surprised!

Maybe we can try for a Nest fourball one Saturday morning at The Ridge?

I’d definitely be in on that. Wonder how many more are lurking around here?

Otherwise, if @Birdwood wants to meet us halfway we could tee it up somewhere like Stonecutters?

Nice one @ScottW I live 5min from Springwood CC. I moved up here about 3 years ago and have just picked up the clubs after a couple of years off (shoulder injury) so in answer to the actual question playing all over to see what the courses are like. i grew up in the east was a member at Bonnie Doon many years a go and lived around the corner from Woollahra GC played a bunch of the courses in the east.

Happy to play the ridge or stonecutters. Can play midweek or weekends. just keen to play.
I don’t have my handicap yet but another two rounds and I can lodge my cards. I joined the online club “Future Golf” for this year so I can play a bunch before deciding on a club.

sorry for the length of this post.

lets tee it up @BaconFingers :golf: :golfing_man:

No need to apologise! Just looking at the calendar and Friday the 4th of June (day before long weekend) is looking good for me for a morning round. I’m heading down the coast in the afternoon for a wedding but morning is clear and will be off work. I’ll take a look at Stonecutters website, they generally have tee times advertised a fair way ahead of time.

The Ridge will be a bit tricky to get on without a golflink number (need it for comp and the public tee times are chockers) but sounds like you’re not far away from having that either.

*just checked, looks like stonecutters tee times are three weeks in advance

I am in for Friday the 4th of June. @BaconFingers could you make the booking when possible.

Putting a reminder in the calendar now. Earlier the better works for me, but how early is too early for you?

Heading to Sydney for Month in the next fortnight whilst a family member under goes medical treatment, Will bring my clubs and hopefully get a few sneaky rounds in fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear that, hope all goes well and that you manage to get some golf in

Managed to jag a tee time but it is very early… 7:24am.

Let me know if that works (all the later tee times either sold or were too late for my afternoon plans)

@BaconFingers thanks heaps for making the executive decision and getting a booking. The early tee time no problem with me. Looking forward to playing a new Course (for me).

Good stuff, looking forward to it

Turns out my home club has reciprocal rights with Long Reef GC, might have to make a trip out there, any feedback on what to expect condition wise ?

@imac25 is the man to ask about that

Hi there Sydneysiders,

Keeping you in the loop that the opening drop of NLU products will be hitting the store at craftgolf.com.au next week, and there will be free shipping to Aus addresses and I am working on a volume discount for everyone in lieu of a Nest discount as I don’t have access to those databases…

Follow along on instagram @craft_golf as I will put up more exact opening times for drops etc so that you have the best access to all of the stock as it hits.

Enjoy
