Hello fellow nesticles,

I was wondering if there are other nesticles in or around Switzerland? Also, if you are visiting consider this your official invite to go launch’em.

cheers, crack on.

I love Switzerland. What’s the fastest way to achieve citizenship for an American? lol

Live in Switzerland for ten years, and in a particular canton for however long that canton specifies. Speak one of the Swiss languages (German, French, Romansh, or Italian) with spoken B1 and written A2 fluency. Don’t have a criminal record. Pass a significant background security investigation (think security clearance). Prove that you have fully integrated to Swiss customs and culture (if this sounds vague that’s because it is). Don’t be on state support. Don’t have outstanding debts.

If you do all of that, you can apply. Then if you’re lucky you might even hear back about the next steps!

Switzerland is actually one of the places I have an option to move to on assignment for work sometime in the future. Got to visit for a work trip back in 2019 and it was incredible, albeit expensive.

One of the partners at my firm is an international trade specialist who has lived in Geneva for 15 years and isn’t a Swiss citizen. It’s the hardest passport to get that I’m aware of (other than maybe the US).

If there was one place in the world I could choose to live it would be Switzerland. Glad I made it over there before the rona.

You were there laaaaaate in the season by the looks of it.

Yeah it was like Nov 30th or something. Wasn’t too cold, but I was bouncing around everywhere on trains and missed out on a lot of views due to cloud coverage. I did stay in Bern for a view days which had all their Christmas stuff out including the Christkindlemarkets which was delightful. Mulled wine for days.

@fridge for future scouting, what is the golf scene like in Switzerland?

Harry Colt was involved with this course:

And this is a Pete Dye design:

@fridge have you played either of these?

There is plenty of good golf here…we have about 100 courses and around 90k active golfers…Most of the courses can be played with a credit card and prices vary from maybe 50 to 100 swiss francs…one downside for me is that golf still is quite the „elitist, senior sport“ over here…still getting dumb looks when i show up in my hoodie from people who think they are something better…but thankfully those things are slowly changing.

Can‘t beat the views though on some of our courses…

It is all public golf?

I did play ascona once but it was raining like crazy…course is said to be a top 5 course in switzerland.

Haven‘t played domaine imperial yet. Was supposed to right before the vid hit…might need to drive down there this summer!
