If you can do Yeamans, do it
Anyone here in the Aiken area?
I think we have a few in the Aiken/Augusta area and there are a few of us up in Columbia just an hour away.
I work in Augusta live in Columbia. There are a few Augusta guys and I think an Aiken guy or two.
I’m in Evans, very rarely get to the other side of the river but I keep an eye on this page.
Nice well I live in Atlanta, but my mom just moved to Aiken so end up there periodically. Working on getting her to join Palmetto….anyways any golf recommendations for the area outside of Palmetto?
Palmetto is as good as it gets.
Have you heard of The Tree Farm?
Do yourself the favor and go play Aiken Golf Club and Forest Hills in Augusta. . Let me know if you’d ever like to play.
Thanks. I’ll let you know next time I’m there. And I have heard of the tree farm, but sadly I don’t have $350k for a founders membership…Looks like it’s going to be pretty special though
You have to clear the haters and losers list and have a significant number of Instagram followers before you even get the option of donating $350K. It’s a tough hill to climb.
Played with a member last week. All signs point to this being the case.
Funny enough I met ZB’s uncle standing in the concession line in Augusta last spring
I agree with @LukeBoatright suggestions. AGC and FH are the best experiences in the area. I like the River Club in N AUG a lot too.
My buddy is actually a member at River Club. Fun little track
Late to the game here but I live in Aiken now and have previously lived in North Augusta for 5 yeras, @apmiller.
If you’ve never played Aiken Golf Club, you need to play it at least once. I take out-of-town visitors to play there as my responsibility to “show” people Aiken because of it’s place in Aiken’s golf history. But I don’t go out there on a consistent basis. It’s not my cup of tea.
I posted this a few months back, and now with some more rounds in the area, I would adjust my “Aiken/ Augusta” public list like:
- Mount Vintage (Independent/ Vintage are the best combo IMO)
- River Club
- Aiken GC
- Forest Hills
- Houndslake
- TopGolf
- Midland Valley
Palmetto trumps all of these if you can get out there.
Give me a heads up when you’re heading this way and I’ll take you out to Houndslake (my home course). The course is in good shape.
I know you’re a man of the cloth but these rankings are going to drive me to throw hands.
Haha! What would you change?
My golf balls don’t care that I’m a man of the cloth. They baptize themselves in the water whenever they want.
- Forest Hills
- Aiken GC
- River Club
- Mt Vintage
Houndslake - Top Golf
- Midland Valley
Good luck with Palmetto. Waiting list was shut down a long time ago.
Shrink the game.
Once the Tree Farm is complete though, should be plenty of openings at Palmetto as members migrate to New Holland.
