Roll Call: South Carolina Golfers

Also haven’t posted in this thread in awhile but if there is anyone living in the Bluffton/Hilton Head/Beaufort area or passing through and want to meet up don’t hesitate to hit me up! Always down to meet some fellow refugees

@jtshelley42 I might be playing atlantic dunes on the 14th or 15th midday any interest in joining?

Damn wish I could but I’m probably not going to be able to get out of work those days. Love that course

I will be at a wedding at colleton river in november. Is it worth trying to get out and play there? The only time I’d be able to is early am sat. possibly same on Sunday. Not sure if it’d be impossible to get those times away from members.

Dye course at CR is outstanding. Definitely play there if you can. Haven’t played Nicklaus. Looks nice.

man i just saw one of their shirts on 2nd swing, which lead me to google the club…holy moly that place looks damn incredible

How did you get tee times there? It looks incredible

I know someone who lives in the community, so he is a member.

If you check out their website, I believe they offer “discovery packages” where you can stay a night or two, play the golf course(s), etc. Many courses in the area do the same type of thing, and costs vary, but the ones I have seen seem reasonable for what you get.

I hope you have warmed up after Scotland. Man, you looked cold in a few of those pics, @Tilly

Really? It was beautiful there every day. Really windy a couple of days, but mostly sunny and warm. Hmmm.

Just revisited Graham’s tweet. Maybe not cold, but a little wind swept.

25-35mph winds for the first 2+ days. Gusts above 40mph. Made cute little Kilspindie play like Carnoustie.

Hey guys, I’ll be in Charleston next weekend 10/12 & 10/13 – any recommendations for how to get on at Bull’s Bay?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Moved to Columbia in August. Would love to find someone to play with. About a 13.

I play out there with a friend a few times a year. They have one slot a day that they open to outside play, but you need to have your pro call and ask. Don’t think there is another way on without knowing a memeber.

Hey everyone, I’m heading down to SC next week, playing Ocean Course at Kiawah and Caledonia up in Pawley’s Island. Obviously I’m pretty stoked on Kiawah, but wanted to know if anyone knows the condition of Caledonia currently? I’m a bit of a Strantz disciple and excited to see his first solo layout.

Haven’t seen it recently but they usually keep it in great shape. Nothing’s gone dormant yet here, weather has still been pretty warm.

That’ll be a great trip. Caledonia is always in good shape so you should have no issues.

Caledonia is always in good shape. Played it on Jan 2 during a very wet spell and it was in fantastic shape.

The fall is their high season, so I’d expect the conditions to be very good.

I always make the recommendation to play True Blue across the street too. Severely underrated if a Strantz course can be that
