- I’m ticked I was in Charlotte for kids soccer tourney and missed this.
- If they could get the tee boxes to grow in (using @anon29849602 pics as reference), this place would be insane.
- Imagine how good it’ll look when the Bermuda comes out in spring.
- We’re going to need to take a Friday trip across the bridge(s) in the next month or two. I’m sure if we could secure a foursome there would be two more interested folks.
- $40 to walk now? Not the $18/25 it once was, but still highway robbery in our favor. Hell, with the amount I’ve been playing since October I’m paying about $500/round at Snee.
If yall need one more next Friday, I might be of service. Going to be down seeing my folks out in Hollywood.
I can’t do 2/5 due to work, but generally have every other Friday off. I could play 2/12, 2/26, 3/12, 3/26, etc.
I’m ready for another trip to Aiken for golf. I’m there 3-4 times a month—just need a reason to go on a weekend.
Missed the last one, also due to kids soccer tourney. I need to stop letting my kids play sports, it’s really affecting my golf.
I’m thinking of putting something together at my club (CC of Lexington) if anyone is interested.
I’m sure I will be back down enough in the coming months to launch em with you
I haven’t played golf in Columbia since probably '03ish and can be tougher to schedule than the Pope, but I’m always interested.
As a Columbia resident, let’s be clear: CC of Lexington is not in Columbia. We don’t claim them and they don’t claim us
It’d be strange to have the CC of Lexington in Columbia. Like how Columbia Country Club is in …Blythewood?
Yeah, to a Charlestonian it’s all the same. But I know enough folks from Lexington to know the sensitivity. Cobblestone is formerly known as The University Club? Or am I mistaken there? Do they still have the claw bunker?
You’re correct on name.
Have never noticed the claw bunker.
Those Friday dates look enticing. I need to come down. Hopefully after time change we can get 36 in and add the muni.
Definitely, I’d be down to play one Friday morning. We played at 9 AM in 4 hours. Quickest round I’ve played at the Muni by at least 60 minutes.
Side note, the Tree Farm sounds pretty awesome and is finally realistic. Do any of you guys live close to the property/are familiar with the area? It is only about 2 ish hours from us in Charleston
Sounds good to me.
The gamecock claw was a bunker on the outside of the dogleg right on the first hole of the garnet nine (not sure on name, but the nine that started NE of the clubhouse). Would have been summers of '98 & '99 we played it. When we came back in '03 I think we played Northwood. The only hole I remember was a long downhill par 5 that I pulled my drive and caught over 100y of cart path love. I hit my old Titleist DL3 54* to get on in two. Probably made a par.
I drive by it 3-4 days a week.

Toooooouuuuugggggghh scene. The mega Venn diagram of Yoga, Golf, and Homeland Security.
Ditto. Columbia resident, and it takes as much time to get to Lexington as it does Orangeburg or Florence. Both decidedly not Columbia.
Y’all try being in Chapin. I can get to Musgrove as fast as Lex and Columbia. Such a sad corner of the state for golf.
Forest Lake is really the only damn one that makes sense! Up until the 60s CCC was in the Eau Claire neighborhood. Wish I could learn more about the land and layout at that location. Judging by the fact that the further north/east and west you get from town, the better the soil is, the Eau Claire site probably was unplayable from December through til April anyways
