how well does Boscobel usually recover after punching the greens? I know it’s hard to say as a certainty but just in general. called them to book times for next Friday and they said they’re punching today so hoping they are decent by next week

Got a round in at Quixote over the weekend. Thought it was a fun track. Very well maintained, with some good risk/reward holes.

I did think the front nine was a little bit wonky, lot of tee shots that have trees overhanging and pretty dogleg heavy. Don’t mind those some, but not for several holes in a row. Back 9 was much more fun imo.

Can tell the club is getting money put into it, they built a nice new practice center etc. To me there was just a slight feeling of trying to “money your way” into being a nice course, if that makes sense. They are trying to have all the bells and whistles to prop the course up to a level it wouldn’t otherwise reach.

Still very nice and would play again, just my .02

A junior golfer told my daughter he and a bunch of top juniors are apparently going there and doing work with a teaching pro. Force plates, the whole 9.
I kinda felt the same hearing it.

It’s Paul Woodbury, a lot of those juniors moved over from when Paul ran instruction at Florence. He’s a great teaching pro, definitely has all the toys

Hoping to be there for the Carolinas/Virginias team matches this fall :crossed_fingers:, course looks awesome.

Hello again, friends. It’s that time of year again (kinda), getting well out ahead of this one just in case. I’ll be in Charleston playing with some work friends (and my cousin, who is a local) on Thursday, October 16. Planning for Wescott Plantation around 2 or 3PM that day and will have between 1 and 2 open spots depending on what @smith decides to do with his day - if I were him, I’d probably not skip out on caddying at certain Columbia/Aiken area course, but that’s just me. Hope to see a couple of ya regardless.

Stop going on the other side of the state!

Stop not having a beach!

It’s the furthest thing from my choice, unfortunately. If we have a bad year at some point we’ll be in Charlotte… Which is closer! But a lot worse than Charleston.

I never expect anyone to drive long distances for me. Of course I would be honored if you did.

Friend of mine bought and is rehabbing the Lake Murray Golf Center. He is chronicling the rebuild on social media under Lake Murray Golf Center Under Construction. Probably a good spot for an event sometime down the line.

I have been following. Couldn’t figure out who they were or their connection to the area. I am excited for this to get back open!
