Side note; everyone doing ok on account of the hurricane? We’re still without power, but the combo of city water/gas and a generator makes it less impactful.
Everyone else doing ok? I heard the Aiken/Greenville/Greenwood areas all were hit hard.

Never seen anything like it in this area. Still without power as well, but everyone in my family is safe with no major property damage, so that’s about all you can ask for.
I can only speak for the courses I play but both Fox Run and Musgrove Mill sustained severe damages that will take a significant amount of time to clean up and recover from. I imagine many of the other courses from Aiken up through Greenville experienced the same.
Reports I have gotten from Aiken/Augusta is it will be weeks without power for some and a long road ahead.
I have not heard of any immediate needs from refuge users or anyone in our Roost as of yet, thankfully. If they do reach out we will certainly gather as a group and assist however we can.
Three Pines is opening 6 holes today and early word is they’ve denied @FireMarkFox request to be renamed No Pines… too soon Harry too soon
Merch mini update discussion is happening in the (thank you Luke edit: Slack). Please let us know if you need to be added to that.
Louis via Western Birch provided renderings for possible PGS packs. “Min order on tees is 1000, no min on tools and tags. This file shows a walnut tag with a blue/white acrylic badge. Also showing a maple tag with blue paint fill. Some misc divot tool and ball marker options. I’ll need a feel for how many of certain items you may need and then I can give you a better idea of the pricing.”
Slack and other PGS info: Palmetto Golf Society | Linktree
Which can be found here.
as a non PGS member / SC resident, the tees look sick and I’d definitely jump on some of some of them if you need to fill out your minimums
Hey all! I’m part of the Colorado roost but am headed to Charleston for a few days next week (10/9-10/13). Looking to play a morning round either Friday or Saturday. If anyone has recommendations/wants to play/needs a fourth, let me know!
I’d say its pretty dependent on where you are staying. The Muni is typically the best bet. It is an awesome public course, and very reasonably priced. You can book tee times online 7 days out at 7 AM(I believe). If you are staying at Kiawah and money isn’t an option obviously Ocean is amazing. The other Kiawah courses are solid but expensive for what they are. Wild Dunes Links, Stono Ferry, Dunes West, and Rivertowne are the next best options
ISO bar / brewery recs - staying downtown for 2 nights before heading to Kiawah at the end of the month – its been a few years - Blind Tiger / Vendue / the Griffon still recommended for French Quarter area?
We’re happy to uber out to other spots outside of walking distance.
Tia yall
Church and Union. Not a huge bar area but I like SNoB, too.
Edit: sorry, misread that you are willing to Uber for good breweries… In that case I like Revelry.
The. Muni.
Cheers! Glad to hear Revelery still comes recommended!
Will check out church and union and SNoB those would be new to us - thanks!
For Breweries, Revelry has a great rooftop bar. Best beers I think is Charlestowne Fermentory. Edmunds Oast and obviously Westbrook as well.
If you are downtown on a Saturday they have a free trolley that runs to all of the breweries on the peninsula from like 2-9.
Near the French Quarter, the Gin Joint and Bumpa’s are two good spots for some drinks
Hello all. Got a trip planned Oct 24-27 to Myrtle Beach. Playing TPC Myrtle, True Blue and Caledonia. Any insight on how these courses fared after Helene came through? Seems like that area was not affected too bad.
PS. I hope you all are staying safe and got/get through these storms unscathed!
Were familiar with edmunds oast - will give a look at chalrestowne fermentory - thank you!
Holy City is another good one and their new location has decent views and very close to Park Circle for good food and other beer (Commonhouse). Coast is also right around the corner and one of my favorites because it is one of the earlier “beer craze” breweries and has good beer, but some odd hours.
I will say the beer won’t knock your socks off, but Freehouse Brewery is literally on the Ashley River and off the beaten path.
We are 90 minutes south of MB/Pawleys and our course is in totally fine. I can’t imagine it is much different up there. We played TPC MB and Caledonia over Father’s Day weekend, and TPC MB was in really bad shape. Unsure what it looks like now. There were bare spots everywhere including on the greens. I’m not really a fan of the layout either. I’d play another round at Caledonia/TB or somewhere else
