Thats what I like to hear. The dates of my move got pushed back a year till next august, but if that membership type is still around I will most definitely seriously consider it.
I much prefer a golf club vibe than a country club as well, although country club amenities don’t hurt.
We have a great group of RACDG guys here in SoCal that are always up for game. We had one outing at soule park and are looking to do one at Rams hill next. Hit me up and we can add you to group!
How do I get in the conversation about SoCal outings? Would love to join when possible, although don’t have the most flexible schedule. But would love to join when possible.
Has anyone participated in a SCGA Member outing in San Diego??
Looks like they go to some pretty nice tracks, a lot of them usually private so it’s a good opportunity to play them. SDCC has one on the 14th of December. Was hoping to get some info on the vibe before signing up
Hey everyone! East coast gui here in San Diego until June at least. Would love to meet up and get some games on the weekends and hopefully some weekdays in the new year. Any games happening this Saturday maybe? Staying in Encinitas so anywhere within a reasonable distance is cool for me
Howdy all. Working from Carlsbad beneath the Goat for most of March into April. Already have a time for Torrey South, but other than Goat, need some gems to hit in the area.
Usually up for drives up to an hour to get to a course with some character. If anyone can point me to their favorites that’d be much appreciated
Also, always up for games if anyone likes to get together Match Play, Quota, et al.

Don’t sleep on Torrey North. I actually prefer it to South, more fun greens with better views. Plus North is definitely the better walk. In terms of other courses, Maderas is usually the consensus “best” public course after Torrey. Unfortunately a lot of the more prestigious courses are private, but you should look into the Crossings, Oceanside GC, and Arrowood which will be near you. A fun mountain course that is great value is Mt. Woodson which is right about an hour away from Carlsbad.
If you play TP North, warning that they are starting construction of the driving range for the US Open right after the Farmers. This means holes 1 and 18 will be directly affected as that is the driving range location. Management told me forward/temporary tee on 1 and temporary green on 18 is the current plan.
