Thinking I’ll be in the Pittsburgh area on Monday June 30. Anyone playing golf around the area then or want to? I don’t mind playing solo but wouldn’t mind some company either
Phoenix Arizona lad dropping in. Won’t have any time to golf while I’m out there, but looking for some food recommendations and if anyone has specific area they recommend staying.
I will becoming in for a work conference for the lady and I are coming out a couple days early to explore the city and get a little vacation out of it.

I posted this in the US Open thread and while not all encompassing I think it’s a good list.
As far as where to stay I would just avoid downtown and south side.
When you come definitely ride the Duquesne Incline up Mt Washington and then walk to the Grandview Overlook. Much better view than the overlook at the top of the incline
The list Waffles posted is good. If you’re looking for an inexpensive lunch, I like Madonna’s downtown on Smithfield, Arepittas (also downtown), and Salem’s in the Strip District.
Thanks for the heads up on that. We were looking at hotels in downtown.
Quick internet search says Northshore, Allegheny, Warstreets area or Lawrenceville?
Would those be better to stay?
Out of those I’d go with Lawrenceville. Most walkable with a lot of good restaurants and close proximity to other neighborhoods. North shore is where Heinz and PNC Park are so if you’re going to a pirates game north shores a good option. War streets is a sub neighborhood in the north shore.
Are you staying in a hotel or Airbnb? And will you have a car?
Edit to add: there are also a lot of good restaurants in the north shore but it’s not as nice to walk around imo
Gonna do a hotel in the Lawrence area
Hey Yinz! On Tuesday 8/5 I’ll be downtown for a work meeting, and would love to play somewhere mid-afternoonish before heading back to Cleveland. Anyone available? Goes without saying I’m good to cover a guest fee if anyone that’s a member somewhere is able to host. Finders fee of a gift card to Pants N Nat included!
Hey guys wanted to pop in and ask where would be a good place to get a practice round in near totterbridge next Friday the 8th? Totterbridge has has an event and won’t have any tee times available but most of us driving in for the regional are going to come in Friday afternoon figured a warm up round couldn’t hurt
I would say your best options within 30 minutes of Totter are Tom’s Run, Glengarry Golf Links, and The Madison Club. If you want to stop on the way from Ohio then you have a lot of other options
Edit: Seeing some recent reviews of Tom’s Run that condition has gone downhill so maybe don’t go there
Where are you staying Friday night? If you’re staying closer to the city South Park is one of my favorite public courses just south of the city.
Not sure yet one of our others guys is setting up the lodging. I’ll keep the suggestions in mind appreciate it fellas
Depending on where you’re staying if you don’t mind driving a little further east Latrobe Elks is pretty good (@CTrabert correct me if I’m wrong).
Otherwise if you guys really just want to get swings in and have trouble finding tee times last minute Meadowink is in that area too and will probably be the cheapest place around there. Not the best, would defer to the others that Reitz mentioned haha.
Manor Valley Golf Course under the lights is a fun option in the area too. Not a great course but a fun experience to play under the lights.
If you can get your pro to call in, I would highly suggest Hannastown Golf Club or Ligonier CC. Hannastown would be the better course.
Publics in the area near Totter that I would suggest:
Champion Lakes
Madison Club
Latrobe Elks is decent value, but I would suggest all of the others before here.
Heading back to the Pittsburgh area and looking to tee it up with some Yinzers on Oct 19th or Oct 21st if anyone is available and interested?
Popped in to see if anyone had posted about Chartiers—playing there Monday for a work outing. Other than the fact it’s a scramble I’m super excited.
It’s a great place that was renovated a few years back. Lots of elevation change on the course and great greens. You’ll really enjoy it
How’s Nemacolin CC?
Does this entire thread have me muted (or hate me)? All I want to do is play golf with you people on 10/19 or 10/21.
