Roll Call: Pittsburgh and Western PA

how was it?

Ditto.

Conditties were tuff out there, but played solo in 3.5 hours and it was like 55 degrees out so it was perfect.

Still quite a bit of snow on the course and it was muddy, and windy, but I was playing outside so that’s really all that matters.

hey pittsburgh crew!

I’m headed your way in September to play Oakmont, and i wasn’t sure if anyone here would be able to host us at Fox Chapel the day prior? It’s the the afternoon of Thursday September 17. I figure it’s a long shot, but there’s a couple chicagoland courses i could perhaps swap you for if that’s of interest.

Check out Scally’s Golf Center in Moon, PA. Tremendous range and fun little par 3 course.

Is there any update from this article pertaining to asking Wolf to open up courses? My course shut down pretty quickly about 2 weeks back because of this.

Same here. Been a touuuuugh couple weeks

Just joined the nest.

Live in the Homestead area. My place is technically closed but looking the other way on people who are walking. At least that’s how it appears based on the groups all over the course yesterday.

@Jstan51 Consider yourself lucky if you’ve taken advantage of that! My course sent out an email a few Friday’s back saying “Course is open only to walking members” then 3 hours later it changed to “All golf is prohibited”

Welcome!

My buddy got married at ECC last fall and we got to play a round the Friday before. We had a great time and really liked the course. The greens were amazing.

Thanks. I joined there last year. I was very happy with the course conditioning all season. The greens are fantastic.

Y’all here could help by signing that. I’ve never seen a petition really work, but what else can we do about it? This takes a minute of your time.

All courses closed in Latrobe, Greensburg area. Stay safe!

Born Here, Live here, play in the South Hills Mostly. Frequent courses are Lindenwood, Hickory Heights, and Valleybrook CC, when I can get an invite. Need to play more golf as soon as we are all allowed to go outside again.

Hickory Heights is a tough course, in my opinion. I despise number #10, think it used to be 1? The downhill hard dog leg left. Have you played the new holes at Valleybrook?

Hickory is a real tough course. You can’t spray it there at all, which is hard for me. The Greens can be a little shaggy but its tight. It is the closest course between me and work, so I end up playing there a good bit. My Dad is a member at VB and I think the new holes are pretty cool. I think it worked out as the new range is way better than worrying about taking someones head off on Red 9

Anyone else catch the governor’s reopening plan? Golf courses have to open back up in the “Yellow” phase right? RIGHT? Can’t wait for that to happen. All of the courses I have driven by or seen pictures of in the area are looking pure.

The Club at Blackthorne in Jeannette, Pa is a fun little 9 hole track if you’re ever in the area.

Definitely think so, Yellow Phase allows retail stores to open back up and only indoor exercise will remain closed. Can’t wait for a tentative date on that.

If construction workers are pushed up to May 1st, I’m hopeful we’ll get to Yellow Phase by May 15th.

I was thinking around the same time frame. Hopefully optimistic that it is sooner.
