I have an extra spot at Dobson Ranch at 8:45 on New Year’s Day if anyone else is boring/sober/taking it easy. There are some other times around it as well so open to switching if more than one person is interested.

Looking at times for first week in January as I’ll be back for a few days and boy winter rates sure have set in compared to what I was looking at in November. Gcu wants 120. I remember playing for nothing and worrying about my car being broke into in the parking lot lol.

The City of Phoenix card is really the only way to play golf with any sort of consistency this time of year. The non-card holder rates are steep.

For sure. Being a non resident I just suck it up.
I remember the junior pass they used to offer. I think it was 18 and under but it was $30 a month and play was free walking every day in the summer and weekdays in the winter. Can’t remember what a peak season weekend rate was but it wasn’t much. The good old days. All it took was mowing a lawn or two. I wish life was that simple again lol.

Coming in from Atlanta Wednesday morning of the WM. Should I try to look around for a round somewhere or will that be impossible as I get closer to the date?

Call the course of choice ASAP. Most courses will take reservations for that week specifically. Just be ready to $pend $ome $serious premium$ to jump the $tandard booking window.
IE: pre covid course rack rate was $120 in peak season, we would sell out at $200 outside of 10 day booking windows.

As @StatGuy said. Start looking and calling now. It’s gonna be mega pricey and probably horrendous value, but a great time of the year weather wise to be playing golf.

Planning my golf trip/stag for February in Scottsdale. 12 of us and we’re staying in a Villa in Paradise Valley. Playing the Phoenician and Talking Stick O’oodham. What’s the recommendation for a 3rd course?
Was thinking Papago as I liked it last time I was in Scottsdale but just saw what they’re charging for it now and laughed out loud.
