Roll call: Phoenix/Scottsdale

It’s actually opposite per the website

0-7 is $145
8-90 is $130

I assume you’re right, and just not sure if they’re published backwards or what

sorry for the edit. I haven’t seen many places where it is cheaper in advance but that’s what it looks like in the actual booking engine, as well.

No wonder it’s so damn hard to get a tee time there as a resident.

Where we are staying is basically right by Starfire. Looks like we can get from airport to WKP in 30 min and then 25 min to Airbnb which might be the play.

Would highly recommend, and you said the house won’t be ready, right? Because if it somehow is ready early, you can easily drop your bags at the house and lose like 5 min tops. Exit for WKP is Shea and next exit up is Cactus for the house

Nice area to stay in but there are 20+ courses within 20-30 minutes that are worth playing before you play Starfire. IMHO. Unless your idea of a good time is breaking condo windows. (Not that you suggested you are playing there but just in case anyone gets any ideas what with the proximity and all.)

I was sitting here wondering how you could possibly get from the airport to WKP in 30, but forgot about the Beeline off 202…so disregard my previous about stopping at the house first

Yeah it’s just the course closest to the house. Don’t plan on playing.

Playing mountain shadows for the first time on Monday and soooo pumped. How walkable is it?

Love to hear that, makes me even happier. I have a great stand bag right now. Can’t recommend the sun mountain 2.5 enough

Going down in March for a bachelor party, 9 people total. All of us enjoy golf some more than others in all aspects of skill and willingness to pay. We are looking at playing twice while we are down there. What are the best courses that aren’t too expensive and would be fun for everyone? The guy whose bachelor party it is was looking at talking stick and saw there "twilight rates start at 3 pm, being a casino course I was hesitant that we would all finish before sundown how’s the pace of play there normally? Staying a couple of miles north of old town Scottsdale btw.

Very relatively – what’s a good idea of a budget?

RE: Talking Stick @ 3pm, you would not finish…I’d be shocked if you play anywhere twilight and finish 18 in < 4 hours

This is what I told him as well but he was adamant that we could. Lets say around $150 or so but preferable less than that.

I’m going off 7pm dark…it’s possible but unlikely

$150 area you’re looking at the cheap end in March

Closest to old town:

McCormick Ranch (not 100% sure on this rate)
Stone Creek
Orange Tree
Starfire
Silverado
Mountain Shadows is a fun all par-3 course but might be a little more than $150

Awesome thank you. In a weird spot where some guys would be willing to pay more and others aren’t so trying to make the best of both worlds. Thanks again!

Yeah, and it sucks that $150 puts you on the bottom tier. To be clear though, the courses are fine and they will be green. It’s not like they’re cow pastures.

I knew that would put us in the lower tier but that’s fine! Still can have a great time!

Papago is around $150 and better than all those courses. It’s not as close as the others but can’t be more than 20 minutes away.

Blindly assumed it was more than $150, definitely the best of the list I named

Just looked and the tee times start at like 2:30 for when we would be there. Not sure if all groups would be able to finish in time.

Arizona Refugees,

I am opening up a new market for my company in AZ. If you are a personal injury attorney or a medical provider in the state, or if you know and could facilitate a conversation with either, I’d like to run something by you. I’m happy to provide more details in a PM. I appreciate the help.

Looking forward to getting some rounds in with you all when I’m down there.
