What’s your Bandon lineup look like? I went out last Saturday to Trails and Pacific Dunes and it was unreal.
@mcdreamerson and @Mflies23, sounds like we gotta get a self-employed monthly game going or something.

Playing Sheep Ranch February 22nd and Bandon Dunes the 23rd. Definitely down to tee it up as soon in the metro as I get my clubs sorted
I would be down with that! As for Trails, that’s my church. Absolutely love that course. Hit me up anytime and let’s play.
Going for the first time Thursday-Sunday. Pacific, Bandon on Friday. Old mac and Trails sat. The preserve, sheep ranch sunday. Incredibly excited. Alway’s down to try to meet up and play so let me know.
I would like to have some monthly games at Bandon property courses. Is this possible or am I just getting crazy at this point?
-definitely possible
-no desire for me to do that
-easily done especially as a single
-can also go when the weather is at its best
fun stuff
Maybe a little crazy? No chance I’m paying summer $$ for Bandon (great golf, but I’m a little frugal). I’ll happily take the resident winter rates though!
we can see that you are frugal LOL
best time to play dollar wise for an Oregonian is off season no doubt!
Every time I go it is less than 3 weeks out and there are and handful of openings for my buddy and I. Likely at times that the openings wouldn’t allow for 36 in a day but it’s easy to mix in the preserve or something.
Big fan of Widgi, walkable course, can play tight with tree lines, but just played on Saturday and was still a lot of fun.
Both the Black Butte courses are fun, Glaze meadow is sneaky good though.
Semi Private/Private- Fazio if you can get the invite during the early season guest rate is a must play. Crosswater is amazing, but will challenge the hell out of you.
Juniper in Redmond from the blue tees with wind (which is often) is tough, but a solid track as well.
Hello Oregon Compadres. New to the Refuge, And Oregon now that I think of it…
Slowing getting rid of all my golf balls at EastMoreland during the winter months in my Tuesday Skins Game. The trees there seems to have magnets, as do my balls…
Either way, love getting out to other courses, in the area, but I wanted to let everyone know, (as this seems like a theme.)
The boss got the best Christmas gift… I AM GOING TO BANDON, March 1,2,3. Yes three days, yes I’m playing all five courses. In order, Old Mac, Sheep Ranch, day 1, Pacific Dunes, Bandon Dunes, Day 2, Trails is Day 3. This is my first time making my way to the property. I could not be more excited… Especially after these five knuckleheads made some pretty sweet videos about them…
Anyways… This is also one of my first post. Am I doing this right? Again, Hello to all…
Welcome! I was in Bandon early December and I hope you get the same weather we lucked out with. Even if you don’t it’s more than worth it.
Thanks to @DarkHyde for the tip on Widgi. I think we are going to add that to our Bend trip in late June. Any feedback or ideas are welcome, right now it’s the 2nd year we’ve done this so it’s still in its infantile stages.
Day 1: Morning 18 at Tokatee on the way over. Travel/set up camp, staying at Tumalo state park. Beers & Eagle Crest Putting course in the evening
Day 2: Aspen Lakes in the am and Juniper or Widgi in the afternoon
Day 3: Broken Top & hit the town (covid willing)
Day 4: Hit Tokatee for our championship round on the way back home.
We are considering a running quota game, but one guy in the group has a giant handicap so that might not be feasible.
I would suggest Juniper over Widgi, but that comes down to personal preference. If you or your group tends to spray it a decent amount I think Juniper will be more enjoyable.
Finally got my irons after being on back order since last October . Was only able to play one round last week before the snow hit( first round in 11 years) . Playing Sheep Ranch and Bandon Dunes next Monday and Tuesday #lfg
I’d vote Juniper. Widgi is nice, tight, and woodsy. Juniper is big and fun. Probably cheaper too, more money for the pool.
Looks like I’m in the minority but I’d take Widgi over Juniper most of the time. But since you have a couple alpine courses on the list already it might be cool to play a little desert(-ish) golf.
Sheep and Bandon for rounds 2 and 3 after an 11 year hiatus? That has to bring some major joy my gui.
I have a group of 40+ guys that go on a golf bender every July. Headed to The Wilderness Club in Eureka, MT for 5 nights this year. While I really love it there, it’s a bit remote and we were there last year as well. I’ll be finding a new spot for ‘22 and need to get some lodging booked very soon.
The event is 4 tournament rounds over three days (18, 36,18) and there is a TON of golf played the two days prior to to the tourney.
I’ve looked at/had conversations with Brasada Ranch, Pronghorn and Tetherow. My preference would be to play the 4 tourney rounds on the two “best” courses in the area. I know Tetherow is polarizing, but are there two courses that are at the top of the heap?
We are also a pretty big food and wine crew. Having at least a couple large houses with kitchens is critical so any resort plan that includes/requires meal plans or only offers hotel rooms is off the radar. That said, we do chef cater 4-5 meals so I’d love to have access. Is my best bet to go through a resort and have them handle the bookings or should I lock down 6 big VRBO houses in the general vicinity of one another and book all golf on my own?
Any Bend insight would be wonderful. Thanks gang!
