Roll Call: Orange County, CA (Long Beach, Inland Empire etc too!)

Nice, I appreciate the tips. Oak Quarry is still on my bucket list to play. If you need a fourth let me know when you’ll be down at Temecula Inn.

IE Courses

For folks in the IE I’ve been throwing courses I’ve been recommend on this spreadsheet, figured everyone could benefit from it

Are these the summertime prices? I’ve definitely seen oak quarry times in the $200s but that was earlier in the year :grimacing:

Oak Quarry used to implement surge pricing, it was kinda rediculous. One time we paid $40 and the guys we were paired up with paid like $125

Prices as of this month. I would encourage folks to add more info if they have it.

you know what, shame on me for not checking their website directly. Looks like golfnow prices are routinely $20+ higher (so buyer beware!). Still, website showing $177 and scaling down to $120 as it heats up later in the day.

People of Orange County. I’m heading out there for a quick trip next weekend and looking to see if anyone has recommendations for where my husband and I can get out on Saturday AM in the greater Anaheim/ Irvine area. We have to be at the Honda center by 3-4 pm so trying to keep it close and in the AM.

Any recommendations appreciated

Thanks!

Everything is dependent on where you are staying. Personally I would make the trip out to Goose Creek in Norco because you are returning opposite of traffic. All OC corses are expensive that are worth playing (Oak Creek, Strawberry Farms, Tustin Ranch) and the south county courses are going to be tough traffic-wise on the return leg.

I did not see a time before 1pm at Goose and Tustin either.

Budget? Golf sucks here tbh. I drive from OC out to Goose most often. I’d say Oak Creek or Pelican north if you can expense it for content.

A fun, cost effective muni is Costa Mesa Country Club. ~$55 per round and two courses to choose from (Mesa Linda or Los Lagos). Otherwise, get ready to drop $150 - $175 on average for a weekend round in OC between Strawberry Farms, Arroyo Trabuco, Tijeras Creek, Black Gold, or Oak Creek ($225)

As an update to folks in the IE or come out to the IE to play - Canyon Crest CC in Riverside is now offering public tee times. It’s a little steep (90/110) but the course is in great condition and a good challenge for those of us that struggle on narrow fairways.

Ended up at arroyo on Friday afternoon and then Tustin ranch early Saturday. Had lovely random pairings with some older folks both days and we had a lovely time.

I must have been channeling Blockie at Arroyo as I tied my best score ever with an 85.

Playing there tomorrow!

Sorry, my Refuge/online time has gone way down and missed your previous post. Would’ve loved to play with you guys and/or meet up for drinks. Thankfully I’ll see you in a few weeks.

Those trips are the best. My wife and I are going to leave our 2yo with Kristen’s parents in Charlotte for a 24hr NYC trip the Wednesday before Sweetens to get in a Broadway double header.

Love that!!!

Hey, i’m travelling with work to Irvine, mid February. Any suggestions for courses to play as a single (where I can join others), or better still… anyone local from the refuge who may fancy a game that’d be great! TIA

I play as a single 90% of the time. You can get in easily at Strawberry Farms, Rancho San Joaquin, or Tustin Ranch.

Thank you! Tustin Ranch looks like good fun! I’ll message back when I get a date in for anyone to join!

Is there an OC group? I’m over in Newport
