Roll Call: Oklahoma "The Supercell" - The Gusher @ Hillcrest 6/28

Yeah I’m sure it would not have been a good day for a lot of folks. Stay dry and warm down there!

Quite criminal sir, get your self down here!
I’m quite excited about the bunkering as well, our current are less than ideal, drainage issues, rocks, mostly inconsistent from one to the next. Myself a few buddies went to play the Rawls back in August and the bunkering was tremendous, albeit there were a few exposed liners and they had lost parts of their greens. I truly enjoyed the raw unmanicured bunker edges. I’m hopeful we end up with something like the Old Town Club after Coore and Crenshaw had their way with it in 2014.

The weather is frightful. I’m in south Norman, power grid is pretty strong in the neighborhood with our lines underground. We’ve only had flickering power, only annoyance has been our internet/router getting reset.

Fun fact : this was the earliest ice storm warning on record for the Norman NWS Office, tho the data only goes back to 2006 for some reason.

Give us more, weatherman!!!

Went to the office today because it was the only place with power. Get home and look in the back yard. Total devastation. Power line to the house destroyed. Been in the house for a month and getting married on Saturday. Fantastic!

I didnt really “like” the post. gosh. Might be able to make it up there tomorrow/PM if you need any help clearing shit before sunset. I’d imagine your neighbors might be in similar spots, or did you get specifically hosed?

Thanks dude. Unfortunately it looks like that all over the center of the city. Minus a branch taking the power line down we fared better than many. Going to wait to do most of the clearing until OGE can clear the line but will let you know. Much appreciated. Plan to just get the big stuff to the curb for the trash folks to get cleaned up.

Hope folks are doing okay. Here’s some positive news regarding possibly the best tree in Oklahoma.

Damn that is rough! Sorry to hear it man. Drop a line if there’s anything I can do from up here.

Man, that’s tough. Let us know if you need anything!

Hello friends. Curious if anyone has a recommendation for lessons/coaching in the Tulsa area? Had a great guy in CA before moving back home this spring, and am in need of a tune up with some trained eyes to fix some lingering misses. Thanks in advance!

I’ve had great luck with Jason and Owen (both at LaFortune — think the other assistants are good too but haven’t personally had lessons with them). Have also heard good things about both guys at Battle Creek.

Tough week with trees and power outages here in Chickasha, finally back to a little normalcy. Anyone playing this upcoming weekend?

New Refugee here! I’ve been in the Tulsa area for about 2 years now - originally from South Mississippi. Hope our folks down in central/west OK are doing alright (family in Hinton has been struggling to get power again). I picked up the game about 18 months ago but really dove in. I try to play 2-3 times a week in peak season. What is everyone’s opinion on the Golf & Athletic Clubs (Lindsey golf courses?) - memberships seem like pretty good deals for the price.

Welcome! And I have no idea about the Lindsey clubs but I’m sure others here can fill you in.

@Stogey welcome broski. Are you talking about Broken Arrow Golf & Athletic club?

BAGAC member here. It’s exactly what you pay for. By no means a real “club” experience if that’s what one wants. Plenty of young folks soaking up the cheap option, and then a big contingent of older guys who treat it like it’s their southern hills.

Course is a bit quirky and short, and pretty target golfy with all the water and OB. Greens usually run decent, and conditions are usually better than most of the cheap public options around town.

I’m a coach/teacher, so the value is hard to beat for those summer months that I can get 20+ rounds in. I ran a price comp against my group of buds who play public and I’m actually spending less on golf than the guys who play 1-2 times per weekend.

Happy to have you out to play and check it out. Slide in the DM’s and we can set it up.

Yeah they let me come play it when I inquired about membership - you could definitely tell it was a Lindsey course. I haven’t decided if I am joining yet. Thanks for the info!
