This is so tempting but I just had to pre-pay for the Old Fashioned in November and I’m not sure my wife would be cool with me taking another golf trip.
Tell her you’re going for a long drive and just put the clubs in the car. You’ll be back that night!
I could easily take the time off to make it happen. It’s the money involved. I’ll be at $250 for the month in golf spending if I were to go and I usually spend around a third of that a month. If that. lol
I hear ya definitely put a hurting on the wallet this season in general but hey it was great. Still a lot of cheap local golf left before they get hung up too.
How far is this up and back for you guys? 5-plus?
It’s exactly 5 from my house and I’m in Dayton.
Ill be in GR for a weekend in October if people want to play up there then. Totally worth the drive to play the Devries trio and stoatin brae plus all the breweries.
I’m as down to up and drive anywhere as the next sicko but that’s some next level freakery.

I’m planning on driving 11 hours on a friday, drive back on Sunday, to play Old Barnwell for one full day
I would drive 11 to play OB. My record is a little over six
I did 8.5 hours one way to play Sweetens earlier this year only to turn around and drive back.
I’m also headed up to The Old Fashioned at Blackwolf Run that I’m going to do as a day trip as well.
It’s 5.5 hours each way for me, I’m in Hamilton. I’d love to eventually do a trip similar to what @Browcoww77 mentioned, but don’t really have the means to stay overnight right now (I’m 23, been married for a year, working two part-time jobs that don’t necessarily pay well, and have a two-month-old).
If we can get three guys, I’d love to occupy that tee time as an OATW foursome. Maybe figure out a way to play a couple of simultaneous matches, idk.
My back hurts just hearing these one day marathon driving stories to play a round.
Library conference?
They have all the tees up on #9 to make it a drivable par 4.
