LCC still has the best value membership for someone within reasonable driving distance to the club. If you’re living in the suburbs it’s still a little haul to get into Cincinnati. They are going under a 4 year renovation right now that is going to freshen the course and change it significantly.
When there are outside events on the course you can reciprocate to Mak or Clovernook for just a cart fee. If there’s no event, you can still play but it’s full rack rate.
Columbus folks, give me a spot to get a good meal tomorrow night. Staying by campus, but I’m not opposed to taking an Uber somewhere for a good place to eat.
Best cocktails/food - Watershed Kitchen
Best “nice”place to get a steak dinner - Lindeys
Iconic German Columbus food - Schmidt’s (overrated but the only place everyone recommends that’s Columbus famous)
Besides all that - @Rmbship recommends - old bag of nails pub on tremont rd in UA. Local pub Chain with burgers beer and sports on tv.
If you’re staying close to campus - tommys pizza is the best for Columbus Pizza
Thinking hard about it - since you’re a young GUI - you might like watershed better than lindeys. If you like cocktails. Lindeys is fancy but old fancy, but good steaks.
@JohnnyPanton is Probably right, Tony’s is supposed to be a good local Italian.
Sounds like you’re looking for a nice place, but if at any point you’re looking for a good sandwich, I’m a big fan of Katzinger’s over in German Village.
My three best friends from college all lived together on City Park right after we graduated. I visited them once a month during law school. I love German Village.
New to the refuge, and like @Randy I grew up spending a lot of time at Little Miami and Indian Valley (RIP). Cincinnati has a good lineup as far as muni’s go. Now that my daughter is getting older I would love to find a league somewhere nearby next season.
