I didn’t sense that but if that’s true…that’s an absolute travesty
The guy in the pro shop said the owner had passed away and the family didn’t want to continue.
It was sold once to the New Philly city schools but the deal fell apart. They are looking for a housing development to perhaps buy the property.
When i told the guy I’d love to come back with my son,he said I had better make it this year.
A travesty is right…too good to go away.
my home course in high school and can’t say enough good things about it. tough for a high school course but it definitely built character

How would we feel about doing an honorary Strong Like Stella Cincy Open part 2 again this fall at Avon? I don’t have the networking chops to make it as big of a deal as it was last year, but I feel like it was such a monumental event Refuge-wise that we have to try to keep it going. I’m hoping that there can still be some kind of charitable component to it as well.

Guess I’m gonna have to make that a late season visit. There was a group of guys from the course I used to work at that would venture down to Oak Shadows in the winter. According to them if it was over 30 they would open and for the season, it stayed relatively dry. Unfortunately in Ohio, this seems to be the case at too many courses.

I really wish I could join, but travel just isn’t in the cards this year for me. Gotta do everything I can to keep Stella healthy.
Hopeful we can get through this nonsense and do the 2nd / 3rd in 2021. If you guys are able to get something planned, don’t hesitate to run it back this year, I’d love to watch from afar!

I wasn’t on here for the first Avon event but have heard about it, would definitely be interested.
The group that responded to the poll was split pretty evenly between the weekends of 10/3 and 10/10 for a potential midway between Columbus and Cleveland. Knowing that’s part of the group that would attend an Avon even, I definitely don’t want to ‘counterprogram’ if those are weekends you’re thinking about. I can’t book Deer Ridge yet anyway so I’ll hold off as we get this sorted out. Just lookin’ to go launch ‘em at some point in October!
