Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) 2025 Major now official

Camargo has some of the genuinely biggest greens you’ll ever see. And they got bigger in many places with the recent renovation.

How’s everyone’s power situation in NEO? Just got ours back at about 5:00! Praise be.

There’s the picture I got of that first round pin position from ‘22, and I wasn’t shy about taking it, either.

That green has been rebuilt and that front edge is higher, so it really isn’t to recreate that exact situation.

IMO, the bigger pin position snafu was on the Redan, hole 15. A member of this board was one of the Asst superintendents at the time and was on that tee box and said at least 1 person from every group putted into the bunker, causing a 3-group pileup in the first round.

What is the % slope there?

My guy @GGates18 hit what I thought was a perfect shot in round one to the upper slope of the green the first round. Was about to hand him his putter when we saw it sliding off the front of the green into the bunker. That was the first “sick” call of the day.

I don’t have any reco’s, don’t live in that area, but love what you do!

Not a very big town. I went to college in the next town over but wasn’t really golfing at that time. If you need a coffee shop recommendation that also has a play place for kids, I got you on that one

I was looking at the sprinkler head at first and thinking that was day one and flag was day two. Now THAT would be sick

(I’m just fucking around I don’t want that smoke)

Thank you! Happy I’m able to help in a small way.

Maybe reach out at Denison golf course? College course and a favorite of Phil landes. Not too far from zanesville.

I got the Puttview book this year and it is updated for the reno, so won’t give us anything for the pin on 17, but I think 15 is unchanged, so I’ll send a picture later with the book and the pin sheet.

Anyone in the Columbus area playing early Sunday with an open spot? I know it’s a long shot but just got the green light.

I’ve not had lessons there but the folks at Eaglesticks GC might be able to help.

In the history of sketchy pins, this has to be on Mt Rushmore.

The Asst Super said they told them (USGA or GCGA) that they cannot put the hole there and they did it anyway.

Edit: notice the pin placement for 17, as shown in my previous photo.

I’ve never used a book like that before but am I reading that right that the pin was placed on a ~9-10% slope!?

I think those are degrees. Still way too high. A ball literally won’t come to rest on a stimp 11 7% slope.

As @golf4miami pointed out, I thought I’d stuck it on #15. For sure thought that it stopped. But it didn’t. Rolled back into the bunker and made double. We were the first group to go thru there too. Someone made an ace to that pin as well on that day.
The second time thru I hit the same shot and it barely stayed up, left of the pin on the first cut. Birdie attempt was the most timid stroke I made all day trying to avoid putting into the trap.

This thing on? Apologies for the delay, but Mill Creek tee times are made. Life got in the way and I’m not able to make the originally planned date of 9/14. 9/21 is not good for the course, so we landed on 9/28. Right now we have three times starting at 9:06 for the North Course and the South Course starting at 2:15. Guy I spoke with wasn’t sure of their aeration schedule. Fingers crossed we’ll miss that. I’ve attached the Google sheet. And it is editable and everything. Let me know if any questions. Crack on!

For anyone wondering about price, I don’t have an exact number but it was not bad at all. We walked the first 18 and rode the second last year and it was under 70 bucks.
