Anyone have experience at O’Bannon CC in Loveland, down here in Cincinnati area? Wondering about difficulty level of the course mostly, assuming it’s in good condition as a private course? Looks pretty benign from Google Maps and their video and not super-long which is helpful.

I had never heard of it until a month ago when I saw that the Mid-Am is being held there. I’m wanting to get some competitive rounds in, just looking to not embarrass myself if it’s a crazy difficult course.

My scorecard from yesterday at Scioto Reserve may be the most boring scorecard ever. 10 pars, 8 bogeys. All scores were either 3,4, or 5.

Honestly, the round felt that boring too. Didn’t hit anything really close, never grinded over anything either.

Might have a spot Saturday (19th) 10a at Kirtland. PM if you want to be a backup in case the guy who always cancels cancels.

I’m headed up to Cleveland Sunday. Day late, dollar short.

Playing SRCC tomorrow. I hope to shoot a boring 80 but will probably shoot an exciting 94.

Played it once at a time I was playing pretty poorly; usually play to around a 2 for reference. I remember it as a bit quirky and tight. Could be a ball eater of the driver is out of sync. Didn’t seem that hard otherwise.

It could be the easiest course in the world and I was just particularly terrible at that time!

I was a member there in high school (02-05) and last played it a few years ago, so I can’t speak to current conditioning, but know the course pretty well.

Assuming much hasn’t changed since I last played there, it’s a great little course. There are some quirky holes and it plays longer than the yardage because you shouldn’t take driver on many holes due to tight driving zones.

I am a little surprised to hear it’s hosting the Mid-Am, but I can see how they can set it up to be really difficult at 6500 yards.

Anyone going to Fried Egg Moraine event? And if so, anyone playing golf in that general area Sunday? My buddy and I are heading down sometime Sunday. Was going to schedule a Heatherwoode tee time and seeing if others are interested. Or if there were other tee time shenanigans we can join in on

I will tell you I played Yankee yesterday and the greens have been better.

Moraine drains pretty well, but for anything public, you might need a canoe. It’s going to be very wet down here for the week.

I was close. I shot an exciting 90. It included 3 triples, 2 hitlers, a 60 foot par save, a kick in birdie or a par 3, and the worst use of a breakfast ball since in the history of the sport. Not boring.
Overall I liked the course. Got around 3:30 without rushing… always like that.

I would skip Heatherwoode. I don’t like it at all. Skip it and loop Mound GC in Miamisburg twice. Bonus, it’s also by Nipper Campbell and hasn’t been messed with at all. A tone of fun and won’t beat you up too much.
