Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) 2025 Major now official

  1. I want to put an alcoholic beverage here but that would just be dishonest. Give me the sweet green elixir of the gods, Mountain Dew
  2. Nothing beats the alt shot portion of Findlay
  3. 90
  4. “Stop” “down” “soft” are said way too often
  5. “Sick” in there a lot, too
  6. The commitment to the “they don’t fix their divots” bit is 9.7/10. Stand and applaud. Not sure what I’m putting in it, though.
  7. Browns…sigh
  8. The New River. IYKYK
  9. This is Ohio. There’s one right answer.
  10. Honestly, no to a cornfield. Might need to change that.
  11. I’m not sure we’re ever going to top fall of 2022. We had the Scotland thump September - December 20th and it was INCREDIBLE.

Best Ohio beer?

Welcome to Ohio

Not so proud Muskingum alumni here with some WV roots.

Would you think about living in Zanesville? I have several friends very happily living there and not missing the full blown suburban hellscape in Columbus.

I second this

I was Kelley 2nd Fllr. We had feature comforts like doors on the toilets over there unlike you heathens.

Kids today have no idea how good their dorm life is.

Thank you. I would, but my wife’s sister lives in Columbus and that’s a major reason for the relocation. Plus my wife’s going to watch our nieces and nephews (God bless her). Thus, cannot be too far from her sister.

Think we’ve narrowed it down to Pataskala, Westerville, Sunbury. Open to other recs to the east or north with straight shot to Zanesville.

We had the stalls that were only like half the height they should be, so anyone could just look over the top. After all the damage we did to that floor, I’m surprised they let us even have doors on our rooms

  1. Call me a square but a good Arnold Palmer always hits
  2. The Best Game
  3. 80-90 easy

  11. Literally nothing beats fall golf in Ohio!

I’m up near Sunbury, we love it up here. Happy to answer any questions about the area up here.

Would be a haul to Zanesville though from this area.

Another spot is Pickerington. It’s is a nice area if you wanted to be more of traditional “suburbs”. You’d be closer to Zanesville than Westerville and still have good schools.

Pataskala is going to be more rural feeling with some neighborhoods mixed in between farmlands.

New Albany is pricey but great schools.

It really depends on how much land you want, how important amenities are (shooping, restaurants, walkability, etc.)

I’m used to an hour+ commute so no worries there. Her sister is in plain city so trying to maintain decent proximity to that and keep my commute under 60 miles.

We were feral.

What year did you graduate? I’m class of 2005.

I was only there for a year. 2002-2003

I rarely admit this and don’t say it proudly, but I would have been VP of Kappa Sigma while you were there.

I’m sure our paths crossed at some point.

Oh we have absolutely met and maybe even hung out. I spent the first semester hanging out there every weekend

  1. Water, Miller Lite, or High Noon
  2. Unless the silly round at Findlay counts, I’ve never played it.
  3. Several hours if it’s worth it.
  4. Maybe 10?
  5. Less than one.
  6. Haven’t gotten it yet, but thought from the pictures it was a valuables pouch or a really tiny laundry bag.
  7. Browns
  8. Cuyahoga with the Schuylkill a very close second.
  9. Pop
  10. Cornfield? No. The woods? More times than I can count. Grape vineyards a few times too.
  11. I’m not sure but I know it’s not global warming bc that’s not a real thing.

Best Ohio beer? I’m basically retired from any beer other than light stuff. But favorite beer ever was a no longer made session IPA from Great Lakes called Steady Rolling. It slapped.

I almost went with this. Could’ve had many of those at CCC. They were so good.

I try not to be an a-hole/snob about it but might be my favorite beer right now.

  3. 20 for a daily driver, up to 60-90 for a day trip. Anything more than that and I play like shit and would spend a night

Ohio Beer: I like Columbus IPA and Truth’s, but that’s a shallow take
