Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) 2025 Major now official

If you’re running the 161 corridor I’d recommend Denison over Virtues, much more fun at least, unless you’re a masochist in which case godspeed.

Denison over almost any public course in Ohio if we are being honest

Might be an unpopular opinion but I don’t find Denison that appealing.

Almost every green is a circle that is sloped severely back to front flanked by 2 bunkers short, there isn’t much variety in the green complexes. Sure some of those green surfaces might be set slightly higher than others and there are a few good holes but I’m not dying to play it every weekend by any means.

I would just say let’s not insinuate poor maintenance practices equate to bad bones/architectural qualities.

I’m pretty confident I got the total $ amt formula correct, all the existing values match and the rest zeroed out. Spreadsheet jockeys unite!

Pittsburgh isn’t just Appalachia.

It’s the capital of Appalachia.

Yeah Denison stinks except for 18. A fun gimmick to end the round

Pittsburgh is the most midwestern east coast city, and the most east coast midwestern city. I’ve heard this before and agree that it fits into both camps

Controversial take from someone who grew up in Iowa and lived a long time in MI, now live in OH: I think all states east of Indiana are noticeably different than the Plains states. I’d rather lump MI, OH PA into Great Lakes or Rust Belt (expanding to WV) than include them in the Midwest. To me there’s a recognizable transition zone before you get to the true agriculture based Plains states.

Ready for the quibbles.

“Rust belt”, “Great Lakes”, and “Appalachia” are subcategories to the larger “northeast, east coast, south, Midwest, Great Plains, PNW, west coast” categories

As a proud player of a golf course whose greens went from square to round, I subscribe to this way of thinking.

Lived in Iowa when I was a kid. Family was in MN and NE. I agree with the take.

Love this idea, here goes:

  1. Preferred during round/ after round beverage?
  2. Alt shot - the best golf game or the best game full stop?
  3. Number of minutes it is acceptable to drive surrounded by farmland to get to the golf course?
  4. Average number of four letter words per round directed at yourself?
  5. Average number of four letter words per round directed at the golf course?
  6. What did you think this year’s Nest gift was? (I have to be honest it took me about 4 seconds to figure it out)
  7. Browns, Bengals, or Stillers? (I could not care less but I think many of you would)
  8. Favorite river? (I don’t know why)
  9. Soda or pop?
  10. Have you ever gotten drunk in a cornfield? Other agriculture locations acceptable as is “woods”
  11. Why do we have 8 months of the worst weather but 4 months of the best?

Please add any additional requisite questions.
