Me too, usually I play mixed tees out there. I have to keep it right of the tree if I play from back there.
right on, thats good to hear
Can we all agree on āMebanese?ā
Mebaners? Mebanonians?
Gave $20 to the Strapped boys to support RDU. Hard to catch Boston
Started a 2nd IG, RoanokeValleyGolf if any of yall have IG, gonna be doing all golf account there for the southern part of the state. Will certainly get down to NC a big too as I try to play with @Fore20 a few times a year and do a week in RDU each summer.
Pretty stoked that this thread is getting some mainstream exposure. Massive influencers in this group. Well done
Anybody in the W-S, HP, GSO area ever play the little 9 hole course at the River Landing @ Sandy Ridge retirement community over in Colfax? My in-laws are moving in there in a couple weeks and looks like they have a 3,000yd course. Apparently itās open to non-residents. Hoping itās fun enough to sneak out when Iām up for a visit.
How bad it could be if isnāt a better option then sitting with your in-laws???
Dandy Sandy Ridge.
Have not been there since ⦠mid 1990s? It used to be an 18 holer before it was bought by the retirement company. It was a classic mom and pop public course that my dad took me to play when I was a beginner, in part because it had a vending machine (out in the open with no cover) on the 7th hole that sold his favorite: Nu Grape.
Sorry for those in the WhatsApp that are getting this twice, but wanted to get it into both.
Alright fellas, hereās the deal. @Hitchings21, @anon29849602, and I were the guinea pigs for the Mimosa Hills promo (@PowerFadez already was in). We had our first of many 36 hole days on Saturday and I have to say it was one of the more enjoyable days Iāve had in a long time. Awesome company, awesome course, and just an awesome day (who can say no to views like this?).
Weāve been able to get the deal extended another month for those guys who didnāt want to make a rash move in 36 hrs (but promised weād get a couple more to sign up
). Out of town rate of $100/mo for 12 months (+ reciprocals at the mentioned Carolina Golf Club, Gaston CC, Catawba, and a couple others). Sounds like for the CLT guys could be worth it for those alone. I know @Double_Bogey_Dave and a couple others were considering before so feel free to shoot us any questions. Weād love to have an NLU squad out there so letās make it happen!
I live in HP and think River Landing is the closest course to the house. Iāve played it a few times, itās actually pretty solid and very enjoyable. I last played it 4/20 like 2 years ago tmw I guess for a morning bday round. Itās cheap and I think cash only, most of the patrons are residents of the facility there or the independent living homes on the property, but as you mentioned they allow non residents.
No range on site but a mat and net you can hit some balls into. Itās by no means a course that will leave you wowed, but itās certainly worth playing with the right expectations.
They are doing a bunch of construction on site however and I am pretty sure the course has been closed as a result. I heard they were planning on reopening however so you should probably verify that with someone there.
Do you know how much the reciprocals cost? Is there an initiation? How much did it cost to walk? Do you know what the cart fee cost for 18? Sorry for all the questions!!
No worries. Hereās the reciprocals and their costs. Walking has no charge. We all walked 36 and just paid for our lunch in between. Cart fee is $20.
Edit: sorry knew I was forgetting a question. Initiation is waived for this promo and for non-resident member there is no food minimum, etc. You just have $100/mo. and youāre good to go!
Awesome, thanks! Can you use their pool as a non-resident member?
Heading to Little River SC, right on the SC/NC border next week for some time off. Anyone looking to play at Wilmington Municipal mid week (27th-1st)?
You playing Glen Dornach?
Maybe? looks to be about 1/2 mile from where weāre staying. Was supposed to be on honeymoon that week but obviously putting that off for a little while. Just taking some time off after a small family ceremony.
Bummer about your honeymoon. If youāre that close, Glen Dornach is a nice, fun course to check out.
