Hey guys! I’m with the palmetto roost and coming up to Charlotte Friday from Charleston, my partner decided to play pickleball Saturday instead of golf. So I’m going solo. Not sure if anyone is playing Saturday and has a spot for one more! We are going to the tournament Sunday so a round of golf Saturday would be great! Let me know or message me! Cheers!

Unfortunately I’ll be out of town this weekend.

But @grizzly224 may have some open spots out at Mimosa Hills - it’s about an hour west of Charlotte, but an awesome course worth checking out if you’ve got the time!

Thanks @tdaly !!!

Would love to get out with @grizzly224 if they have the room! Totally ok if not as well. I know it’s short notice and major weekend!

Would anyone be able to send me the WhatsApp group please? Would love to meet some other golf sickos and hit it around! Thanks in advance!

This should work!

GSO gents - does Grandover offer stay and play packages for a larger group, or just standard the standard hotel options?

No idea but there are so many better courses to play in the triad other than the 2 at Grandover.

Forest Oaks
Bryan Park Champs
Bryan Park Players
Tanglewood Champs
Cardinal
Holly Ridge

I’ll echo @grizzly224 comment here. Grandover isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s just not very memorable either. Will also add that it’s an easy drive to Tot Hill Farm from Greensboro as well. Worth the drive!

Will echo Griz and bcox as well. I just got back from a 3 day trip to GSO with some buddies from college. Played Bryan Park Champions Friday, The Cardinal on Saturday, and Forest Oaks Sunday. BP Champs and Forest Oaks conditions were a clear step above The Cardinal which was shocking considering how good it was when I played it a few years ago. The Cardinal had a lot of bad/bare spots in the fairways and around the greens, resodded tees and no signs to tell players where the new tees were, and one set of tees on bare dirt/mud, but the greens rolled great for bent. Gonna chalk some of it up to the rain over the last week plus, but a good bit of problems seemed outside of that, especially considering the condition of the other two courses we played. Paid 75 to play it yesterday and considering what other courses charge in the area, would avoid for now. Layout is fantastic and when conditions are right, the course has serious teeth, especially on the back. Would absolutely go back when the conditions are better. Fired a smooth 43 on the back after a 35 on the front. Unfortunately couldn’t convince my group to pull the trigger on a Tot Hill tee time but want to get down there badly.

I’m going to play Mountain Air in Burnsville in two weeks. Does anyone have any good recs for us to play on our way up? Looking for something along I-26 in NC. How is the Asheville muni right now? Played there about ten years ago before it was refurbished. I looked at Mt Mitchell but it looks closed.

Asheville muni has only the back 9 open. Front 9 was flooded and sustained a ton of damage. They are saying 2 years before they get it back open.

I’m out of the way a bit for you but can probably host at Mimosa Hills in Morganton. It’s a 1929 Ross and really a great course.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, we suddenly have a spot open for our OATW trip to sweetens (with a round at sewanee planned too if you’d like). We have Friday and Saturday booked. That’s two days away. We also have lodging at a hotel nearby for Thursday, with the downstairs birdhouse for Friday and Saturday night. Would love for someone to go and fill out the rosters to give us an even number for the 4 man team games I’ve got planned. Please DM me asap if you’re at all interested

Hey ya’ll,

Will be in Charlotte for a bachelor party in early July, then I’m spending the following week in Wilmington. I’m debating using the following weekend to play some golf and am wondering where my best bet would be as a single. I’m thinking some combination of Mid Pines and Pine Needles, but is there anywhere else I should be looking at?

Would probably be looking at a timeline of drive somewhere Friday morning, play Friday afternoon, stay Friday night, then play again Saturday (possibly 36). I’m flying out of Charlotte on Sunday, so would prefer to at least be making my way toward that general direction.

Appreciate any help! Would also be down for meeting up if anyone can swing it.

Absolutely let others chime in, but here are a couple options between Wilmington and Charlotte. The blue ones are going to be more economical but you can’t go wrong with the yellow ones!

Awesome, thanks! Tobacco Road has been on the list for a while but they’re punching the greens and doing some other work in July, so not sure how conditions there typically hold up.

Given the timing of your trip you may run into that problem at a lot of places. Admittedly I wouldn’t want to take the gamble on my first time at Tobacco Road being under less than ideal conditions.
