Roll Call: North Carolina

14 ALWAYS plays into the wind. 13 has the advantage of being down hill to be shorter. They have a little tee next to 12 green that makes it play as a tougher 5.

Yessir. 14 is an easier green complex than 13, but they play relatively the same from the 4 tees.

Thanks for the offer - I will gladly take you up on that. Shoot me a message and let’s make it happen!

Had a tough week. Was going to escape and play with the NC boys but things happened. I’ll be down soon for a Saturday game!

I’ll be honest, I didn’t make it to see the green on 14. Pretty sure I was in both 13/11 fairways and then got rejected by @tigergolftraveler pushcart so just took it to the next tee.

@OldDonnie we may have a spot on Thursday with @PowerFadez probably targeting a 36 day

Dang, you get on the Refuge and offers just start flying in your face. Great place to be! I can’t get all the way out there on Thursday unfortunately, but keep me involved and maybe we can swing something and get lost in the Ross.

Ok y’all need a little help. I bought the CGA special deal for my dad as part of his Xmas gift. Discounted round at MP, SP or PN. Need some help deciding between MP and PN. We’re not sure when we will book the date but probably some time in December. We’re not low cap players and really are looking for the best experience and fun. Neither of us have ever played any of these courses before so mostly just looking for a fun, memorable day.

should have bought two so you didnt have to make this decision…after all, its for your pops!

Hahaha damn you’re right. I may go back and buy two more

You were at Bermuda while I was gone (sorry just catching up on the last 700 messages on here).

@NCLeft if you’re looking for fun/memorable I have to think Mid Pines is your huckleberry. I can report back after playing PN on Friday but from what I have heard PN is a typical tournament course. But MP is just a simply fun and aesthetically amazing course. I know @Double_Bogey_Dave @AirMailWedges @Blackngold35 and many others have as maybe best course in Pinehurst (or anywhere). I’ll let Dave give you the quote about God…

God created Mid Pines, Donald Ross found it.

Thanks. I want MP and my dad seems to be ok the PN path. I’ll have to convince him

Check out the Pinehurst Trips thread for opinions and details regarding these three. Mid Pines is a tremendous experience, but it’s the only one I’ve personally played. I’d say the consensus would put SP third out of the three. Can’t really go wrong with PN, but I think the popular vote would tip towards MP on that thread.

You’d definitely not have a bad time at PN. I haven’t done MP yet but loved PN. Great holes, great vibes.

My mantra in the Sandhills is ā€œYou can’t go wrongā€ and it seems to me that’s particularly true when ā€œdecidingā€ between PN and MP.

Pine Needles is awesome. I change my mind which I like more every trip it seems. But you can’t go wrong. Mid Pines vibe is great, so is PN. PN is a bigger ballpark, that’s pretty much an easy way to distinguish them.

Thanks y’all. I think the best option is what @Fore20 said, just buy more of them and play them both. It really does feel like we can’t go wrong so might as well experience them both
