Good deal, keep us posted. I know I’d like to continue lessons as well, just looking around for what works right.
Can never replace just getting out and playing though, golf is always a work in progress.

good looking dug you got yourself there
I’ve been working with Tom this year, can’t recommend him enough. My first lesson was an hour, after 30 mins he had video of me with voiceover (he shares this with you through an app), and drills for me to take away. He then suggested we head over to the short game area and look at chipping (or gave me the option to keep working on the same drills we went over). He’s very efficient with the time and let me use the practice facilities after our time was up.
any of you raleigh boys played eagles ridge?
Yes, I played there, someone described it to me as being like River Ridge. I was also told that it is under the same management, I am not sure about that?
With that, I prefer River Ridge, which is one of my favorite public courses in Raleigh all things considered.
I’d go play Eagle Ridge again, but I’d play a lot of golf courses… can’t love them all.
I got a lesson from Rob Pilewski at the Duke University course earlier this year. I thought he was great. Think he was $110/hour, so not cheap, but better than $400/hour. He kept things really simple and didn’t try to change things too much. Live in Hillsborough close to Occoneechee and have heard good things about Jim Schwab, but have not worked with him.
@Fore20 it’s decent. Owned by the same company that runs Hedingham, Riverwood and Olde Liberty. They’re all pretty similar in that they’re routed through housing developments so not ideal.
Like @GWB15 said I prefer River Ridge… Eagle Ridge is usually a little cheaper but marginally so.
@raleighdawg @GWB15 thanks for the input here fellas
@country35 is coming down from VA in a couple weeks for business and they are having a tourney here…just curious if it was worth checking out
i took advantage of the CGA deal at UNC Finley and might try to play all day out there since it offers free replays…would be on the 21st if anyone wants to skip work
What level of player is he good with? Growing up at my club in Charlotte, we had a guy who was good with juniors and women, a guy who was good with some of the older members and understanding what their swings could and couldn’t do, and a guy who took on the better players who you could get into the nitty gritty and really groove your swing with.
I was scratch at the beginning of the year, trending towards a 2ish now and just moved to Raleigh and want to find someone to tighten everything up. Grooved a bit of an over the top move with the driver thats led to serious inconsistency
Hey if you got a reason to play it, go check it out!
It will always be better than a day in the office.
Not sure I can sneak out of a work day with my current PTO set up.
Where are you getting this Finley deal? I just joined CGA but haven’t gotten anything on specials. I joined 7/19/19. Website looks outdated on the specials section as it’s showing May. I’m assuming it’s an email?
They send emails periodically, they vary in usefulness but some good stuff to be found.
Correct, you will get emails with deals each month. They have some really good ones from time to time, the UNC Finley one was $39 and offered free same day replays for M-F. This one was sent out June 13th for June’s deal…
Another place that has some good opportunities thats worth checking out is groupgolfer.com
I’m just stoked to get some flat lies in praise jeeebus
Saw these on Facebook down in Matthews for those of you around Charlotte. Size 11, never worn for $15
For the record, I have that style shoe in a different color and they are top 3 most comfortable shoe. I don’t know why they got rid of that style so quickly. If they were my size I would jump all over them without even thinking twice.
they looked well worth the $15 dude was charging
Put it this way, if I found a pair in my size for $50 unworn I would buy them without even thinking twice. I always get compliments when I wear mine and like I said, super comfortable for a “dressy” shoe.
if i wasnt a 15 they would have been bought
