Roll Call: New Zealand

I will be in Auckland from 22nd - 29th of Feb. I am interested in a refugee round if it can work.

Already have a game Friday 28th.
Wednesday 26th would be siiick.

Yeah, I am

Auckland.

Probably going to spend most of my time checking classic club chat but thought I’d better check in!

Been in NZ the last couple of months (some epic golf here!!). Thinking of doing a last minute trip to Wellington next week to play Paraparaumu. Would anyone be keen to join for an early Thurs AM tee time (20th)?

Ohh I’d be so keen but would be a tough sell as getting pumped at work at the moment (he says, wasting time on a golf message board!)
If you’re still in the area on the weekend we might be able to set something up?

Unfortunately flying up from Christchurch just to play Para, and back to England on Sunday (via Tokyo for Kawana :smirk:)!

Planning my trip for December-January of this year, how hard is it to get tee times during peak season?

Playing Tara Iti on the 23rd & 24th. Trying to nail down travel dates before inquiring about booking at Titirangi and Paraparaumu Beach.

Related, Titirangi might be too good:

Titirangi is sick. The last par 3 is one of the coolest greens I’ve ever played.

You won’t have trouble getting on at Paraparaumu. I’ve only played Titirangi once and it was busy but I’m sure they’ll be able to get you on, especially during the week.

If you’re spending any extended time in the lower North Island, more than happy to host at Royal Wellington.

If we end up having time in/around Wellington, I will let you know. Thank you for the offer!

Hey Guys,

I’m going to be heading to NZ for a month from March 6th. Currently in Sydney after being in Melbourne and the Sandbelt.

Would love to play with whoever I can when I’m there.

Will be going into Christchurch and kicking around there first then Queenstown around March 17.

Then routing up taking the ferry to Wellington and heading towards Paraparaumu which I will definitely be playing (I think)

Not sure what I’m doing after that maybe Cape Kidnappers… If you tell me its worth it!

Unfortunately Tara Iti is out of reach for me.

Then onto Auckland for Titirangi hopefully.

Cheers

J

Sorry about the late reply. The 26th could work for me in Akl, let me know if you’re around and we can figure it out.

If you’re interested in Titirangi I can show you around, not a member there anymore but need to get back there asap.

Great. I hope it works! Let me reconfirm with my hosts that 26th is a good day for me to head out to play a round.

Sounds like a good trip! PBGC is always a good time. Keep us posted, sure we can figure out a round somewhere.

@sharls_in_charge, wed 26th works for me to meet up somewhere. I am staying with brother in Devonport.

Would definitely recommend Christchurch GC (Shirley). Great, interesting layout and some of the best conditioned greens I’ve played on.

Also, Harewood GC is a bit of a hidden gym, not as good as a a layout but some crazy cool greens!

Played in the Titirangi black tee challenge today. Was great. Shot 83. Had my name on a closest to the pin tag late in the day, but didn’t hold up. Was a good time. Some really great golf holes out there. #15 and #7,8,9 stand out to me. We played an alternate routing, so I’m going to forever be confused.

Anyone played any courses around Tauranga or the Mount? Heading there for a long weekend coming up. Planning on playing Hauraki coming back to Auckland but have a couple more rounds to organise.

I’m doing a quick trip to UnZud next month staying a couple of days in Wellington (Paraparaumu, Royal Wellington) then a few days in Queenstown (Jack’s Point, Arrowtown, Millbrook, Queenstown).

Should I make the effort to squeeze in Wanaka or Cromwell as well?

Any recommendations for other courses would be choice bro.
