Knew Pete a little bit and was at Clemson the same time as Maggie (who was an acquaintance at most).

I love playing that course. Greens are always excellent too.

First time I played it was a couple years ago in July during the drought. It was a trampoline on those greens

Little activity here so feels like a good time for a second shameless cross post c/o @jsteve15

Alright folks, after a holiday hiatus let’s get this raffle going!

Thanks to everyone that donated items, we’ve got a fun selection of items! I’m hopeful that we can raise a nice chunk to defray some of the travel cost for these boys. All are welcome!

RAFFLE DETAILS

*The charity raffle is set for THURSDAY Jan 18th at 8pm Eastern and will be run on the Refuge in this thread.

  • Raffle tickets will be $10 each. You can buy an unlimited amount of tickets (see below for process).
  • Tickets will be drawn through an online randomizer and results posted in the thread.
  • Winner picks their item. Once it’s selected, the item is gone. If you are not present, you get moved to the end of line or can show up and pick. I’m targeting 3 minute intervals to keep things moving.
  • Standard Refuge rules that you can only win once. Like the team’s Senior Senator we will “share the wealth”.

HOW TO BUY TICKETS?

Tracking sheet - Hartford Hurricane’s Raffle - Google Sheets

  • Fill out the spreadsheet and mark down the number of tickets you want.
  • Pay for your tickets on Venmo - my handle is @Jeffrey-Stevens-1
  • I will confirm receipt of the money, and update the sheet accordingly.
  • Tickets can be purchased up until 7:30 pm on Thursday the 18th.

Hey wanted to give heads up Arctic Open is one week away. 11:00 tee time on Super Bowl Sunday and $25/player teams of 4-5. Weather is looking about as good as possible for mid February. Watkins Tavern is open for brews/food after the round. DM if interested and stock up on colored golf balls.

A driving range is opening up here this friday :open_mouth:… Any news on courses near the border opening up earlier than other years perhaps?

Just going through yours now. Loved seeing Worcester CC. That par 3 on the back ejected me 2x en route to a 6 lol

Thanks man. For everyone else, Bald Peak course tour went up yesterday.

We’ve been talking at Hooper of opening up earlier. Normally opening day is like the first week of April but it could be the last week of March. Problem is we could get 18" of snow in the middle of March…

Also, if people are really itching to play we are doing a St. Patrick’s Day scramble - teams of 4-5 (or can be paired up), 1 one club/person (though can share amongst your team), 9 holes $25/person, prizes etc.

DM if interested!

The Oaks is open all 18 holes. Playing this Friday, I’ll report back on conditions.

Also driving range at Pease is open Friday, so they’ll likely be open that day as well.

We’re getting close kids!

I’m at the Oaks Thursday. Had a time for Friday that I gave back… going to play indoors Friday. Love stealing a day in March

Update: did not play due to rain, but the reports of all the trees being cut down are interesting.

The range / short game areas are open and the course looked good when I was there Thursday practicing.

Thursday was pretty good, for March. The tree work is definitely overdue, and will help the course a lot moving forward. But… it needs some time to heal. It was pretty wet in a lot of places. Hopefully with two weeks of cold, dry weather and likely light tee sheet, they can get out and clean up.
