Ended up playing Wednesday. What a difference. Felt more like a links course.
Hey all, there is a great raffle going on for our Refuge brother @GooseTrego.
One of the donated items is a 4 foursome of 18 holes to Hooper. Current minimum bid is $100. Its quite the deal, if I do say so, and helps out a great cause. Raffle ends tomorrow so please consider bidding on the rounds at Hooper and some of the other great items!
Booked first Vermont round of the season (Orleans), it’s finally here.
Hey fellow Refugers! Does anyone have any info on trying to get on at the Quechee Club? My wife and I are vacationing in Woodstock in a few weeks and I’d love the opportunity to play out that way.
If at all interested, I could reciprocate by getting you on to some courses in the vacation destination on Rochester, NY!
Thanks everyone!
Hey, can’t help you with Quechee Club but there are some other good options around that area. Montcalm in NH is a really nice course, Rutland CC is awesome, and not everyone agrees on Woodstock CC but I really enjoy playing there. If you feel like making a little trip down I91 come visit us at Hooper. Good luck and enjoy your time Woodstock is beautiful.
Thanks for the local tips! If I can’t get on at Quechee, I think I’m going to shoot for Green Mountain National, Killington, or Fox Run. Do you have any insight to either of these?
Only played Killington - a classic mountain golf course and its been a while but assume conditions are still good, and if I recall it was fun but tough (granted I was a golf beginner when I went). Fox Run (formerly Okemo) is another mountain course but don’t think it is quite as up and down the mountain as Killington. Green Mtn. National is supposed to be good as well. No matter what you will be playing a good course in beautiful Vermont so it should be a great time.
Played green mountain and killington 2 summers ago. Preferred GM, both were really fun.
I think I’ll be making a tee time for Green Mountain. Looking forward to it as it looks like a tough track.
Need some advice for a bachelor party next summer I’m planning. Goal is to keep it in New England so everyone can drive. Currently we are debating Killington and Sunday River. Thought for Killington would be to play Killington and Green Mountain, and for Sunday River we’d play Sunday River and Bethel. Anyone have any insight on booking timelines for Bethel? Or if we should absolutely do one or the other? Are we missing any other possible destinations?
I had my bachelor party in Wilmington, VT. Not sure where you’re coming from but we played crumpin fox on the way out there and haystack on Saturday. Mt snow and Brattleboro are both inside of 30 min too. It was a good spot
