Roll Call: Nashville (Spring Match Play Post 1430)

Trying to find some options north of town for budget weekday rounds. Anyone played Oak Hills or Nashville National lately? Haven’t played NN in a year or so.

I love Legacy so, I have that in the rotation.

Going to be in Nashville at the end of May. Trying to play golf on a Friday morning. We are staying in the Melrose area. I see a bunch of posts about Hermitage and Ted Rhodes. Any other places I should look? Also would love recommendations for best breweries in town.

Bearded Iris and Southern Grist are my two favorites, mostly IPAs and sours. Smith & Lentz is great and also has really good pizza. Marble Fox would be close-ish to you in Melrose but I haven’t checked it out yet

Oak Hills is a goat track, it’s a fun little course in terrible condition, you can shoot in the 60s out there and leave driver at home. Used to be a member at Nashville National, it’s not in great shape and gets too much play, rounds are insufferable with slow play. Haven’t been on their new Trackman range… Quite a few NLU guys at Legacy and 12 Stones. Park Mammoth all day rate with the new short course opening is a great play as well North of town…

Hi all, new to the refuge. I’m from East TN, and I now live in Nashville. Looking to #getinvolved haha

Definitely looking into this. I’ve been up there once this year already and it played great, less than a week after all those storms came through too.

I called Olde Stone in Bowling Green a while back to ask about a stay and play with the assumption that was the only way to get on if you didn’t know a member. I didn’t get to take advantage of this since the rooms were closed, but I did ask if there were any other opportunities. He told me they allowed unaccompanied guests to play on weekdays, so I may try to take advantage of that sometime. It got me wondering if there are any private clubs around Nashville that offer the same opportunity

That is awesome to know and very very tempting. Bowling Green is under 2 hours for me, so extremely doable for a day trip.

Guest fees are ~$300 if that helps

Nashville area peeps- I have a group of 8 coming down to Sweeten’s in 2 weeks. There are 5 of us that would like to play on the 29th, a day before the official trip starts. I was thinking I could book 2 tee times and let my other 4 play together and see if I could round up 3 locals to fill out the other tee time with me.

Early leader in the Clubhouse is the Legacy course, sometime around 3 pm. Anyone have any interest in joining?

Legacy is a good option. I am out of town that week or I would join!

Lmk if you want to book legacy. I’ll play and round up a couple others to fill it out.

Sounds great! I will message you the details.
