Roll Call: Nashville (Spring Match Play Post 1430)

WOW! News to me… Murfreesboro is a bit of a tough scene otherwise from what I know, but Sewanee is very drivable and we’ll be down there tomorrow to report on conditties

Yeah, I’m definitely willing to drive a bit for a better track.

There’s a large-ish group of High Cotton guys headed to Park Mammoth Saturday morning if you want to make that haul, but totally understand if it’s too far with you being in Mboro

That may tough, I have a little tighter schedule on Saturday.
That’s probably out of my range Saturday.

Some friends and I were planning to play Legacy this Sunday. Course ok when it’s wet? Looking like we may not even get a chance.

Probably about as good as you’ll get around here, IMO

Played Gaylord last weekend…woof. Bachelor party galore, 5 1/2 hour rounds, bizarre golf holes. Nashville deserves much better golf courses.

Heard a rumor it’s like $25 for a range bucket that gives you access to use the practice facility now — that place is a disgrace

How are conditions at two rivers these days? Trying to walk 18 out there this monday (AM) if conditions are decent if anyone else is inclined.

I played in mid-April and thought it was great. Grass was coming out of dormancy really nicely.

After seeing the Sweetens news, wondering if anyone else is noticing abnormal damage to the warm
Season grasses in the area from the week of snow/ice cover. I’m not seeing anything, and everywhere I’m playing seems in better shape than last year after the recovery from dec 22 freeze that killed tons of bushes and trees in the area.

Two spots at Twelve Stones at 3:36 tomorrow if anyone’s looking to get out!

Edit: filled through discord

Not sure if it is $25 now but it was definitely $18-20 last year. Despise that place for variety of reasons.

What is the current status of the “renovations” and current course conditions out there? I had heard bad things about the greens a few months ago.

It’s pretty clear things haven’t gone how they hoped. The greens haven’t really fully grown in, in a way beyond what you might expect from them just being new… They just kinda suck. After seeing the footage from Sweetens recovering project, I’ve deduced they simply didn’t have enough coverage when reseeding.

The tee boxes are being worked on one at a time, which is the right method — albeit they probably should have done it at the same time as the greens. They’re still recovering from the damage caused by sledders, and while I have the utmost faith in the golf staff themselves, Idk where management’s head is at currently. Some of the decisions around the recent severe weather has led me to question the GM’s decision making more so than before.

That’s a bummer but appreciate the color. I think I will just be out at Harpeth Hills / Two Rivers for the foreseeable future. Curious to see how much really changes at Shelby once they combine the greens and I think Percy Warner will be fun (as long as they can keep conditions up, I am dubious).
