I really appreciate everyone reaching out and getting involved… I was unsure we could get 16 guys last summer, and now we’re rolling right along. Thank y’all!

Just so you know, I am High Cotton Cattle Co… So you’re not e-mailing some random address or group of people, it’s just the boy! About to peep the Nest pod now…

Let’s go!

Thanks @TristenJames! Y’all… We are getting dialed

Wrapping up the Roost portion of the pod now, my only concerns are number of Refugees in the area (required to get 20) and captaincy… Since I’ve already organized The High Cotton Classic, I feel like it’d be easy to transition into a Roost. After some discussion with @tanner_sandel and @Beahrs, I want to go ahead fill out the application today, but I also don’t want to put myself into a leadership role here or self-appoint myself as Captain…

I would be in for a roost. Also, everyone could drag a person or two they play with on a regular basis onto the refuge to get us up to an appropriate number. I like the idea of getting to play with some like minded people and such – whether through the HCC or a roost.

I’m in BG and interested in a TN roost as it looks like most of KY is going with Ohio as of now.

In my application, I listed us as a Nashville/Middle TN Roost with players also probably choosing to travel from Southern KY/Northern AL

After listening to the Nest pod and further consultation with fellow Nesters, I feel like NLU, The Roost system, and The High Cotton Club* couldn’t be much more aligned in our mission and I’m hopeful/excited for a successful application review process…

I don’t think you’ll see much push back on that. At the end of the day, this requires someone to take the initiative and run with it. Personally knowing and playing in events hosted by you and also knowing that you have been around for larger events with the NLU guys and through TBC, I think you should run with it. Just my 2 cents. For any curious, I believe all would be satisfied. Thanks for taking an opportunity to look into it.

I dont mind helping out at all either especially from the north alabama end. I wonder if we can do a captain by committee with 2 or 3 people. As far as being a solo captain, I dont know what the hello i would be doing or leftysauce if ya want to take the reigns you have sone experience

That’s awesome. I definitely look forward to chatting with you more about it and getting AL dialed in. You can ask any of our HCC competitors, I’m definitely a “by Committee” type… For The Classic, I established a Rules Committee formed of golf professionals in different roles from across the country can and competitors themselves. Competitors earn their way onto the Committee by winning a bracket… Now we’re at a full size of 7, and will rotate after every edition with new winners to prevent it from every becoming anything like a “good ‘ol boys club”… Inclusion and transparency are two of the most important things to me, I just want to do whatever I can to further our network of players the nature of golf in our area.

*If you sent your GHIN in an email, thank you! Sorry I’ve been feeling under the weather, but I’ll get back to you all with some details soon. Cheers, crack on!

I can second that with @leftysauce. Every decision he makes is completely transparent and voted on. Also runs a hell of an event.

Seriously if you’re on the market for a new fitting and want a good experience this guy is top notch!

To keep everyone updated… Further steps are being taken in regards to our potential Roost. It’s still early, but we are in the process!

If you want to be added to the Official Unofficial Roost Interest List, send an email to highcottoncattle@gmail.com with the Subject “ROOST”… I’ll be sure to provide updates as available. Thanks!

Mr. 64 has joined the chat

For those unfamiliar, this gentleman is one of our original High Cotton Classic competitors, and shot a 64 in his first ever High Cotton match. If that’s not enough, the legend grew when he made back-to-back eagles at #TheRoundUp before commanding us to “SAY MY NAME”… A great golfer and even better guy, we’re fortunate to have him joining us in preparation for our potential Roost.

*Side-note… The High Cotton Classic - TN Bracket reached 32 players today, halfway to our goal of 64 and we don’t start play until April! Let’s fill it up :call_me_hand:

The HCC is fun, well run, and I’ve met several golfers I enjoy to play with now outside of the events. @leftysauce is completely transparent with the event and equally fun to play golf with. He has gravitated a great group of golfers in this event and I look forward to the next.

Yessir, @Beahrs … We did it! We actually did it! While we work on getting details ironed out, let’s fill this bad boy up. If you’re interested in joining our Roost, the High Cotton Club, shoot your GHIN or WHS# to highcottoncattle@gmail.com with your t-shirt size and the best phone number to reach you at.

We did it, y’all… We did it!
