Who in here has played the Braemar reno? I played it late last summer and wasn’t overly impressed to be honest. Much better than the previous version, but seemed a bit benign.
Yep, it is. StoneRidge is a great course and would be a fun place. @munihack7 had a problem looking at that pic earlier…

I’ve played it and thought the layout was a ton of fun. Enjoyed the different front/back vibes, but it certainly needed 1-2 years to fill in a little more. Count me as a fan.
Yeah, don’t judge it until the turf matures. Those greens are going to be wild once they can get them a little faster.
Also in this camp.
Fair enough! Looks like I’ll have to get back up there for the 2022 Hot Dish Invite.
That green in the middle of the shot is a grade A fucking menace. Long par 5, uphill approach, very little front to back room to work with, and a nasty blowout in front. If I get a bogey on that hole, I’m walking away happy.
No matter what shakes out with the event, you give a shout this summer and we’ll get out there for a round. Hopefully @Lazstradamus won’t bust our balls if we don’t settle on an exact date today
Zero bail out on that par 5.
Was a member there before starting a family and that par 5 4th started a fun (but also difficult) 3 hole stretch.
I’m not as big a deal around here, but I’m a ND native as well.
Officially an Anti-NIT event now? Let’s wear it with pride guis.
Laz on a typical day: picks a day, calls a course, books an event.
When was that? I was a member back in 2013 for one summer when they offered an annual membership (maybe they still do?) I thought the member events were great and let’s face it, Danny’s grill may be the best restaurant on the east side.
Yeah, I would prefer it that way, make sure people come for the right reasons (to have fun playing golf and hanging out with other degenerates).
We don’t need NIT Chaser Chad flying in just to try and qualify.
Called four courses today and not a single f-ing person was around. Maybe I should have used my actual name instead of BaxterMSP?
Did you start with, Hi, I’m BaxterMSP and I’d like to see about getting some dates for a No Laying Up event…? Got to believe throwing out NLU would open some doors or get some callbacks. I’m sure the C suite would love that.
I’ll leave it up the the planners, but this started as an attempt to set up weekly games with other Refugees. It might be best to keep the our powder dry until next year (seeing as how 2020 is a bit saturated with big events at this point) then go buck wild in 2021 with a big 2 day event with the NIT spots, charitable fundraising, etc. Maybe we could get @djpie involved too (Little Falls is a wonderful little town).
If we try to do a big event this year it’d get lost in the shuffle.
Maybe I could have done that if my conversations consisted of more than “press 2 for the pro shop, press 3 for Boaty McBoatFace, blah blah blah” Left messages and followed up with emails to each.
2013 - 2015. The men’s events were super fun but to be honest there was a ton of money flying around and a lot of sandbagging and that just isn’t my scene. Played in a blind draw event once and this guy confronted me in the locker room after I posted an 88 (was a 12 at the time) and screamed I THOUGHT YOU WERE A FU**NG STICK!!!" I was like haha naw boss but I had fun out there.
I found a small group to play with and really made the most of the membership…super fun course, great practice facilities, super convenient to my work. Agree that Danny’s might set the standard east of 35E…
No, BaxterMSP is the name to use. Gives a sense of mystery and place. I like it.
