Roll Call - MN contingent? (Part 1)

I volunteered on the range in 2019 - was so fun watching them hit shots all day.

New to MN but long-time lurker on the contingent thread. Have to give a huge thanks to @freesypop and @OnlyLayingUp for a great first round at StoneRidge and my first Refuge round this past Saturday. The wheels may have fallen off by the end but couldn’t have asked for a better first round. I’m looking forward to getting more involved with the MN crew here.

In lieu of any restaurant recommendations from me, here’s our two good boys trying to figure out what to make of their first yard:

Sorry for the late reply. Talk to Bill or Matt in the shop. Great guys. Not sure what their policy is.

Welcome! Stoneridge and “wheels fallen off by the end” has probably been experienced by the majority of this contingent!

Good morning Minnesota! @charvey and I have back-to-back tee times at Stoneridge this coming Sunday, 7/25 at 7:10 and 7:20 am. Got room for 6 guis, let us know if you’d like to play.

Welcome to the contingent @cbdmv

What part of the metro are you in?

Would you have interesting in playing golf when the temp is below 40 degrees?

Chased some sunlight yesterday at Rush Creek with @Daniel and it was truly a treat to watch him pure the shit out of the ball. He’s playing in the MGA Am right now as we speak and after checking the scores, he’s -1 through 8! He tripled #2 but birdied 1,3,4, and 8. The kid can flat out play. Keep it going, dude!

Back to back birds after a triple? Mad impressive. I usually do it the other way around, its more demoralizing that way!

Lol. For real! To triple the second and be even through 4 is pretty fucking sick.

Thank you!

We’re on the west side of Minneapolis close to Lake Harriet. So far no luck in getting the dog into the water but we’ve got time.

Current interest level in cold-weather golf is at an all-time high for me after some great rounds last winter in DC. With that being said, I’m moving from Brendan(!)'s fake winter to Andy’s real winter in SGS terms so I’m sure my enthusiasm is misguided.

That’s my original home course!! Of course when I was growing up there is was a 9-hole dog track named Savannah!

I haven’t played there yet this summer but I’m interested in the responses. I might try to squeeze a round in up there in 2 weeks.

@Daniel how’d we do out there at rcgc today?

Doesn’t seem like it gets a lot of play from guys here. Supposed to play it Fri/Sat while staying at the resort

  1. Made about a 20 footer for birdie

  2. Snap hooked a driver into the swamp, laid up. Hit the approach into the pond right of the green, triple.

  3. Made about a 20 footer down the hill for birdie.

  4. Hit it to about 2 feet (pin was tucked way right) Made the putt.

5-7. Fairways, greens 2 putt pars.

  1. Laid up just short of the front greenside bunker, Hit a bad chip, Made about a 35 footer for birdie.

  2. Watched a guy in my group almost hit it onto the patio so I clubbed down left it just short of the green and 3 putted for bogie and a smooth 36 on the front.

10-11. Fairways, greens, 2 putt pars.

  1. Caught a vicious lip on my birdie putt, tap in pat

13-14. Fairways, greens, 2 putt pars.

  1. Pin was back right, I missed about 5 yards right and slightly deep (sorry @Billy_Baroo I’m a bad listener) skulled the chip just short of the pine tree left of the green. Barely chipped on and 2 putted for double.

16-17. Fairways, greens and 2 putt pars.

  1. Hit a pull cut off the tee that barely stayed out of the water. Proceeded to disregard the advice you and @kirkeide1 gave me, roasted a hybrid 5 feet short of the green to a front right pin. Then I hit the eagle putt firm back for another smooth 36 (if the putt didn’t hit the hole it was a good 20 feet past)

To answer your question the short way, it was very good 72 for having a double and triple on the card. I Hit the ball really good all day and made a bunch of putts.
