Yeah, Rush’s rack rate is pretty ridiculous. Having the card makes it so much better. I brought a buddy out there a few weeks back and when he got to the range he was like “I didn’t realize it was gonna be $140 with a cart!” The twilight rate is the way to go, but I get that the afternoon tee times don’t work for a lot of people.

Yeah we had to go with an early morning time or face my mom’s wrath of taking away from family time.

Played last night. I would agree the conditioning is top notch.

Pace of play is still awful. Tee’d off at 4:40 took us 2hr 20 min to play the front nine. Ended up playing the front nine again as it was empty. Such a great course and such a good deal for twlight but that might be part of the problem. Starter said they had a completely full tee sheet from the first to the last tee time.

I would play keller every week if i could but everytime i play there the round take 30-90 minutes too long.

It’s always been busy out there and it’s substantially worse this year. If a muni is going to sell tee times in 8-9 min. windows I feel like it’s somewhat inevitable, but can be frustrating for sure. Myself, @DrJ, @Mystic and @PaaSco played last Thursday and got around in just over 4 hours, but that was a pleasant surprise.

We played there yesterday and were the third group off, got done in 4:05. The group that had the first tee time didn’t have a care in the world, just taking their sweet ass time. I wanted to say something in the parking lot about if you are the first group off you are setting the pace.

Even worse they were walking but played like they were in carts.

@Mystic 4:05 is pretty damn good at keller , even if you were one of the first groups out.

@bignanski I didn’t even realize they schedule them sub10 minutes. Thats the true problem. No way a muni course, that is that cheap can jam the tee sheet with players who can keep the pace of play fast.

Have not gotten a copy yet, but saw in A.C.C.A., Tom Coyne played this little track. Anyone know why or have any additional info on that?

Either I haven’t gotten to that point in the book or I missed it, but IIRC it was to play with a couple of high level amatuer lady golfers that grew up playing the course.

He is doing some Giveaway of the Map of all the courses he played and went through the Minnesota List and noticed one of those places wasn’t quite like the other hahaha

Off to Giants Ridge next week. 18 Monday, 36 Tuesday and 18 Wednesday. The question is, what kind of extracurriculars can we get into Monday and Tuesday night? Brewery, Restaurant and or other entertainment recommendations welcome.

I enjoyed the dive bars in Virginia, but not a whole lot in terms of nightlife up there, AFAIK at least.

Fortune Bay Casino is ~30 minutes from Giant’s Ridge. I’m not an elite Biwabik mind but there are a couple dive bars around there as well
