life is incredibly hard as a low handicapper
Truly. Life as a 2-5 handicap is pretty brutal. Not good enough to compete in Gross events, and will be promptly dusted by a 12-15 in a Net event who just so happens to really have it that day. #sandbaggers
Let me break out my violin
“yeah, guys, I don’t know what’s happening today. I usually shoot 90 or so, so that’s why I’m a 19 handicap. I can’t believe I shot 41 on the front”
Use to have a known sandbagger at my club right around 19 and shot lots of 41 52 pretending to be too drunk to play anymore on mens day!
a true manager of the handicap. I bet he’d finish 7-6 on 17-18 for the 52, after closing out his match 4 and 3.
very glad we’ve turned this into the handicap bitching thread. Let it be known that i did not bitch when @MNLefty received strokes on each the last 5 holes to take me down in our match. The solution is just to play better.
you bring out the best in me and that’s the ultimate compliment
Don’t you high road us, Seth!
With how the day went, I truly can’t believe that I had you 2 down through 2. I let me guard down and shit went south reaaaaaaal quick.
This is a very true statement for a no-money refuge matchplay tournament. However, if you ever join a private club where actual money/shop credit is on the line you will never repeat these words again!
i am much cooler than all of you because i win
unless its at keller then I will lose
just shoot 63 and this will not be an issue, the solution is always to just play better
Ya’ll got anymore of them spots open?? If so, I’d gladly take one off your hands
I’m an idiot and keep messing up the days that weekend. TBuhr regrets the error and shamefully withdraws
yeah that was a tough scene for you and you still almost came back…
I think the lesson here though is the low cappers should not play matches at Keller where they have to give lots of strokes, seems to usually not go well for them.
If you were smart you would have taken my ass back to Troy Burne where you left my corpse on like the 14th green.
Low cappers should insist on playing higher caps at courses where you can lose a lot of balls, like Edinburgh and Willingers. Unless I am playing them, then we should play Keller.
You have lots of years and net events to learn the true reality of sandbagging! Let me know when you are playing two 18 handicaps that have 4 gross birdies in the first 13 holes and are net 13 under in a 4ball match because that is probably the worst I have ever experienced.
should’ve been 13 under gross thru 13 the solution is always to just play better
I’ll shut up now!
I’ll speak for all the 18+ handicappers out there…
I don’t think I’ve EVER had that. But my fourball partner and I did lose a match 7 and 6 when one of our opponents, who was a 24 handicap, put up a 38 on the front. I made two birdies to HALF the #1 and #2 hardest holes on the course.
I think I would have quit after 9.
