Looks good to me. I can’t think of anymore I’d add
I would sub minnesota national, if I had my druthers. A solid 7 or 8 seed, at the minimum.
Great list tho, for sure.
I used to work out at Crystal Lake and I love it. It is 100% a housing development course. However, there are a ton of risk reward shots out there. Its definitely a shotmakers course but there are a few holes you can overpower with the driver. Also a great mix of par 3s. Ill show you around the place this summer.
I inherit my choice of golf balls that end up in my grandparents back yard
As a Southern MN gui I want to shoutout Mississippi National (I’ve only played the Highlands). A fun track with lots of elevation change, especially the head-spinning 150ft downhill par 3 17th. The one knock I have is it’s not a walker’s course - on a huge piece of property with some long commutes between some tees.
May be unpopular, but I think #10 on the Highlands course is an all time bad hole. 650+ yard par five with mega trees on both sides, and a huge dogleg at about 400. No thanks.
Hey all. Maybe not the right forum for this question but I’m heading to the Jacksonville area in a few weeks and will have one, maybe two, chances to get out and play 18 holes. We are staying between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Wonder what courses you recommend I hit if you are familiar with the area? Who can get me on TPC Sawgrass!!?? joking. But 100 to 200 max green fee. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
Only course I’ve played in the area is Jax Beach, but can’t recommend it enough as a fun and intriguing course.
Alright, we will see how this goes. I seeded them as best I could. I don’t think I’ll even put the seeds down in the poll as I always feel swayed to pick the lower seeds and I’m hoping for chaos. If you haven’t played either of the courses in a poll, just pick one with the cooler name.
Let’s go.

Keller up against Shamrock is just… heart breaking. Poor shamrock hahahahah
Some courses are just easy to vote against, even if I haven’t played the other course yet.
Yeah for sure. After about 40 courses we ended up digging into more of the outstate ones that a decent amount of people haven’t played. I think there are only a couple minor upsets right now, still have close to 24 hours though before they close.
Chomonix is the correct answer. It stinks.
My man!
Im with @tj_denawli on Jax Beach. It was a blast to play. Its also kinda cool to see the course you hear on the podcast every once in a while.
Maybe orlando is a bit too far of a drive, but Winter Park 9 in Winter Park was quite possibly the most delightful golfing experience Ive ever had. Its like someone put a course right on city blocks in a super nice area of Minneapolis. Plenty of shops nearby too if there are non golfers in your group.
Didnt expect Crystal Lake to get very far but I did want to see it get a bit farther than the complete demolishing its about to experience. Tough look hitting a potential #1 seed.
I have not played Crystal Lake, so their seed might have been a little high due to that. In fairness, a lot of these are complete and utter blowouts no matter what due to the strength of the top 30ish. Many courses deserve better fates though. Should be more interesting next round.
Oh for sure. To be fair I havent played half of these courses so its super hard for me to properly judge a lot of them. Stoneridge would blow by anybody with this group haha
edit: Crystal is also way overpriced for the course but the teesheet is always full so I cant blame them.
My clubs were stolen from outside the Crystal Lake clubhouse post round 15 years ago and I will hold a grudge against that place until the day I die.
Cant forget that it almost always smells like manure from the surrounds fields as well… I always look for that when scouting a course
