I’m in on Wednesday if it’s in the mid/late evening hours (6:30pm would be about my earliest). It might be a dicey drive for me to get to East or South metro that time of day but I would do it just to say I’ve rubbed elbows with the legendary captains of the upcoming North Star shootout.
Like I mentioned above, I’m also dealing with some minor back issues (obviously caught between release patterns) but i’m always down to hit a few balls and have a beverage or two.
I know somebody that has played Crystal Downs, all he could do was rave about it! Definitely on the list. Have played Interlachen a few times, those greens are as challenging as they get
Catching up, so sorry I’m so out of order…
I enjoy Olympic, but I am pretty tone deaf when it comes to describing the vibe of a place. I think because it’s golf only without food/beverage minimums, people go because they want to go golf and hang out. There’s not a pull to be there to spend your quota. I didn’t grow up golfing and had only physically been to 1 club as a guest before I joined, and I immediately felt comfortable.
Anybody ever done the Public Country Club thing from twincitiesgolf.com? Thoughts? Seems reasonably priced but most of the courses on the list I have absolutely no knowledge of.
Forecast for the next two weeks looks crispy AF. Snow should be gone in most areas by next weekend and hopefully the ground can start to thaw a bit. Any luck we’ll be playing outside by the start of April!
I’ve been a PCC member for a few years now. When I was living in northern MN it was awesome, as most of the courses I was already playing were on the PCC list. I’ve recently moved back to Minneapolis and now it’s just ok. It’s nice because you can just show up and play a few holes any night of the week without a surcharge., which does get me out a lot more. But to play any decent courses you have to get out of the metro. I play enough to justify it, though. Overall, it’s been good to me.
