Team USA of course, no turncoat Tron’s in these parts.
I’m assuming we wait until the day before to draft teams?!? That seemed to be about the time the final numbers were settled this last go around.
TEAM USA will be captained by @Mystic
TEAM EUROPE will be captained by @freesypop
I will have this poll up for about 24 hours
There will be Impacts to the final decision announced after the course is selected

One key metric that jumps out to me to add is proximity to the hole. If someone has a high GIR they will have a higher Avg. Putts Per Round correlation over time. They can hit 100% of GIR but if the first putt is 70+ft each time, 3 putt frequency will be high. But instead of practicing lag putting, in that scenario a person will gain more be working on their approach shots. Strokes Gained Approach is really the key statistic you should be improving to shoot lower scores.
Hitting it closer is usually set up by hitting it further, not necessarily hitting fairways (see DECADE Golf and/or Bryson).
Decade Golf has some discounts for coaching programs available. I know we use it for our high level players and there’s not many college kids/PGA Tour players that aren’t using some form of it right now.
Much appreciated man-I have a couple of guys who could really use this level of depth and would be willing to pay for it!
I’m happy to give a quick overview anytime. There’s also quite a bit of free material out on YouTube. Will Zalatoris and Stewart Cink are two guys having a ton of success with it right now on Tour. Let’s just say you’ll never look at “leaving the ball below the hole” the same again!
Safe bet that I will take you up on that before the snow thaws! Thank you sir.
If I commit, there is a greater than 50% chance I will bail. Not because of lack of enthusiasm. Just more of the crushing weight of life and not feeling like there is an end in sight. Also because my wife isn’t good at bedtime.
I can keep you on as a back up
Fully agree! I know there is a lot of columns I could add and would be beneficial i.e. driving distance, proximity to hole, approach distance etc. I may try to add those as I go and better refine this.
Without writing an entire paragraph on why I am avoiding such things - I’ll just leave it as I am not a pro-developer and I am just trying to keep stuff as simple and slim as possible so other people can get a little something out of my little hobby side project. Someday though, I’ll get there!
I’m looking forward to seeing more.
One last add on - I really wanted to look at strokes gained, but then realized that is all based on other peoples inputs/scoring etc. as a comparison. Which, will be feasible after I’ve tricked all of the MN contingent into giving me their data through this scam (kidding/sarcasm). But to do it now, the only data I could scrape to compare to is PGA which would just make us all feel bad
Hell yeah though, I love the input, and will always look to add things! Baby steps, as I learn more by doing this, I’ll hope to add more. Who knows, TBuhr33 patented app coming your way someday haha
I’ve been playing around with the GolfMetrics app the last few seasons but I still don’t get enough rounds in to really compile a lot of data.

WE HAVE ROOM FOR 4-8 MORE PLAYERS
But we need the count to be even at minimum. In groups of 4 ideally
Just not sure if I’m around that night yet or not. I might head to Des Moines for the Iowa High School wrestling state tournament that weekend. Will let you know when I make a decision. If I’m around, I’m in.
How much do they pay you for the autograph meet & greet session?
