Lets see… I would say I’ve got good distance for a 16.6 index (when I make decent contact) and typically feel relatively good about my short game. Blowing shots off the planet or some complete duffs/shanks leading to 8s/9s is usually how the scores get high for me. That plays fine for match play though most of the time haha

I would say my season has been Justin Thomas adjacent, but once called up to compete and at a course I know very well, it’s go time!

Another restaurant update! Checked out Daniel Del Prada’s new spot in my neighborhood, Porzana. We’ve had Maison Margoux and Porzana open basically right next to each other in the last 2 months and I’ve been to both. They aren’t close. I thought Maison was good, Porzana is really really good. An Argentinian steakhouse where in 2 hours I didn’t see one single green vegetable being brought to a table, so you know it’s good. The Chipas were so good, the sweet corn agnolotto was amazing. We got 3 steaks to split up, a grain finished prime ribeye, a zabuton and a picanha. I would rank them in that order, but all were so so good. Then there’s the potatoes… the papas alpastadas was new to the menu last night and is amazing. Must get. Couldn’t do dessert, but the two different bottles of carmenere were perfect for that South American feel. It’s late and I’m doing this off the top of my head here, but let’s go with it.

Demi - White Bear Yacht Club (as good as it gets)
Trevail - Northland (fun and wild and random)
Porzana - Olympic Hills (an absolute treat)
Alma - Stoneridge (really good, really classy)
Spoon & Stable - Hazeltine (the place to be seen)
Blondette - Golden Valley (really fun, didn’t see it coming)
Bar Le Grassa - Rush Creek (one of the best places they’ll let Johnny public in/on. Not cheap.)
JD Hoyts - Keller (been around forever, a classic and you won’t be disappointed)

Burrito Loco - Les Bolstad (ties to the U, you won’t be happy with your decision, but you’ll be full/confused about what just happened.)
