Roll Call: Minnesota Part 2 - SIM MEETUP post 9471

Randomly got to snowboard at Yellowstone Club like 8+ years back. My band was doing a tour of Pink Floyd stuff called “Wish You Were Animals” and their director of sales (or some role like that) was at the show. Casually mentioned at our set break that he could probably get us out there if we wanted. I was like “yeah, maybe, but I think we were gonna ride Big Sky tomorrow.” I had no idea. When he went to the bathroom the people he was with were like “Hey, listen up dummy. Don’t pass this up.” Eventually made our way out there and it was some of the best riding I’ve ever experienced. We had the place to ourselves. We literally probably saw a dozen other people riding the whole day. Wild stuff!

Did anyone else happen to catch this?

It’s a bit right? I hope it’s a bit. And part of said bit is going into the comments and defending the group that shot this? It’s got to be just like a 5 level bit.

Edit: after some digging it’s a 1.5, 22.5, 1.6, +.1 that “shot” this score.

Maybe if they played from the purple tees.

I’m very disappointed to see them not take advantage of the back 9 par 5s and just go 3 under instead of 6 like the front.

A scam scorecard posted by a scam artist? The jokes write themselves

I can’t stop laughing at the only par 5 with a 4 instead of a 2 or 3 being the 18 handicap

It was their 2nd to last hole, give them a break. They obviously couldn’t make everything

They just forgot about these minor details in the post… hopefully they got all the engagement they were looking for.

I’m good buddy’s with John Kirk. He was just with me on our trip out to Dacotah Ridge last weekend. He was pissed that KU was using this as a bit and dragging his name through it. They did shoot that score but with huge asterisks and string.

I want to be clear, I am not dragging the guys who did this, I have no doubt that a group of scratch guys were counting everything. It’s more just my issues with KU and the very very very broad terms he was throwing over the round, and posting it as if it were legit. It’s disappointing to me to have him as really the face of Minnesota public golf.

Yeah, his explanation of the tournament changes the calculus a lot. Fuck Kevin.

Funny story from playing yesterday with @kcurry11, @BigTex and kirkeide1 at Logger’s (which was a ton of fun and I’m very happy to be in this group and starting to meet some of yall!). Swung into the clubhouse at the turn to rehydrate and a guy in there, presumably a ranger, but maybe the super, stops me in my tracks to ask me a VERY important question…

He sees my Sand Valley hat on and asks first what I paid to play Sand Valley, and then proceeds to ask, in exact words, “What would you consider a better deal for your money - Sand Valley or Logger’s Trail?” What a bombshell question!! Sir, I’m just trying to avoid working right now! I really should have plead the 5th on that one, but gave him the blunt correct answer “Sand Valley, sir. Have a great day.”
The philosophical debate of “good value” in golf I guess started swirling around in my head, and I proceeded to fried-egg myself in a bunker and double bogey 10.

Anyways, I figured I had to share this thought experiment on what constitutes good value. Would be curious if anyone hard disagrees with my Sand Valley answer in this apples-to-oranges scenario! And if anyone does, there’s a heartbroken ranger out there who’s day would be made if you told him “Logger’s Trail, sir. Have a great day.”

I’m looking to buy a new car. Maybe you can help me out, what’s a better value? A Honda Civic or a Porsche 911?

Whats a better value? Burger King, or Demi.

Depends what your definition of “is” is.

Hey @freesypop can you bump the Transfusion Tussle here? @StrokesGainedDrunk and I are looking to do our match potentially out there and I can’t find the thread. All these Roost threads (and being on mobile) have me feeling like Carmine
