Roll Call: Minnesota Part 2 - SIM MEETUP post 9471

Oh I see. No one wants to air their demons publicly. Put some sort of weird hex on themselves or something. I get it.

This would require me to have a home course

I’m torn. I think the 5th hole at Cumberland is ā€œthe hardestā€ simply because it’s a long(ish) par 4 with an uphill tee shot. It features a reachable bunker on the left hand side of the fairway and tree trouble if you go too far left. I am not an elite driver of the golf ball, so I basically bail right, hope I don’t get pinned behind the right side trees, and hope to get up a down for par.

All of that could be fixed if I could be better with my driver…

11 could also be an acceptable choice with water right, trees left and water in front of the green as well.

All that said, statistically speaking, I’m a much better player on 11 than I am on 5.

Highland homer here, I’ll bite. No questions about it is 7. Tee shot is so hard, you basically need to hit it through the tree on the right to have a shot at the green where you don’t need to sling it around the trees on the left. And when the greens get firm in the summer, that green is pretty hard to hold from the left side of the fairway. I feel like I have it figured out every time, but it’s one of like 4 holes there that I’ve never birdied, and more then likely I end with a bogey then a par.

I’ll do my old course. Number 10 at Bracketts. Water left and OB right off the tee. Because the pond comes in on the left it’s not really a driver hole. Typically leaves you a 7 iron plus to a green that slopes away from you. Think in my 2.5 years of being a member there I only birdied it once.

The hardest hole at Wapicada is the 1st hole. Its 415 yards with trees down both sides. Not a very easy opening tee shot for members or the general public.

The other hole would be the 17th, which is only 350 yards but it has OB down the entire right side and trees down the first 240 yards of the left. It also has a green that is 35-40 yards long.

Bah god, that’s @desertduffer’s (RIP) music!

It’s 15 at WBYC. To have less than 175 in you have to hit a longish drive into a tight space, too far and you can roll OB, too far left and you’re re-teeing. Want to play it safer? Enjoy hitting into an insane green from 200ish

Haven’t we already learned people only like their own opinions? That’s how this whole hardest hole started. Stoneridge is wind and hole location dependent. Hole 5 back left pin is probably hardest par on the course and disaster can happen left or behind it.

Purple Hawk has the 13th, a 220 yard par 3 that often plays into the wind and off the left. A complete round ruiner.

15 is a bear, but for whatever reason 16 has my number. That hole should setup so well for my skanky cut, but that’s a tough drive and trying to hit (and hold) that green in 2 is a fools game.

Oh god. Into the wind 5 is such a beast. I saw a nom for 12 at Stoneridge, but 5 is the sneaky hardest hole out there. Obviously it’s all wind dependent. 16 can play so fucking long.

Stoneridge #12 for me. Off the tee there is OB on both sides, hazard on the right. The perfect drive usually leaves you 180 into a green where if you miss left, deep on your approach you’re taking double. The best approach miss is likely short. I’m usually content taking bogey here and moving on.

That SHOULD be the #1 HCP but it’s on the back

It Indian it’s the new 6th hole. Even if you hit a great drive (trouble right) you’re hitting a 135-185 yrd shot to an elevated green that is protected with bunkers and slopes away and to the right. Green complex is very undulating in parts as well.

And the green is bonkers

Growing up caddying at Somerset and that being the course I play the most, old 9 hole (now 12) is so fun but so hard. Very strategic tee shot (from the tips) and the green is bonkers. Definitely have de-greened myself multiple times.

Now I guess Highland is my home course and I used to agree with @kcurry11 on 7 but I think I personally have to go with 13. As a fader of the ball, right is absolutely dead on the green with the slope and the trees green side. Basically a guaranteed bogey from down there.

As a drawer, I find 13 to be quite a easy hole honestly. It’s crazy how a shot shape can determine if a hole is the hardest or one of the easiest. That being said Highland puts some stupid ass hole locations on 13 pretty often, and that green isn’t very forgiving to that.

For me it’s Hole 15 at Northfork. A tight forced layup off the tee and an uphill approach that never fits my eye. So many rounds have been derailed there.

I am struggling with Keller. Personally it’s probably 11, I always manage to find the right side and get in jail. My historical average on that hole has to be around 6.

Realistically, 12 probably plays the hardest out there. A good drive gives you a look but that green is absolutely surrounded. The layup zone is tiny. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a good look at birdie and come away with bogey there.
