I already don’t work Fridays. So I’m likely going to take off Wednesday and Thursday and would definitely be interested in any potential post-Landman golf

Threw my name on the list if your open to non NSU roost members. May be able to package this as my birthday golf trip and hit some places out there for a very long weekend!

All are welcome, always. I actually thought about posting exactly this a few different times because as far as I’m concerned, the region is NSU and anybody who wants to play golf in said region is encouraged to sign up

I was going to put this in the homeowner thread but I realized most people in there don’t experience the crap weather we’ve been getting this winter. So - moved from the city to the burbs this summer, didn’t need a snow blower in the city, figured I’d see how this winter went when deciding if I wanted to buy one for next winter. Well…yeah, i’m gunna need one for next winter. Going to tough it out for the rest of the season but looking for any rec’s on brands/size?

How big/pitched is your driveway is one consideration. I have a Cub Cadet 26" two stage that I like for the most part. Electric start, plenty of height for down by the street where it gets deep, big knobby tires. I’ve only ever owned this one though. Have heard really good things about Ariens as well.

Edit: I have a fairly large and steep driveway. Would have paid for 3-stage in hindsight but this one works.

Not too steep, I’d say ā€œnormalā€ for subdivision-type neighborhood. Probably 30 feet long from garage to curb

Considering electric but just not sure how the battery would hold up with the cold.

Have heard amazing things about eGo snowblowers. Plus, you can get a mower and then you’ll have a backup battery ready to go

This is the first storm My Toro battery charge has struggled with our 3 car. 2nd tab now has the purchase for a backup battery up and ready to buy.

I would also agree stay in the same ecosystem of equipment can you use the batteries for multiple yard products Snowblower Mower etc.

My wife and I decided that we need a new one. Cool. Coool. Cool.

I have the eGo mower, backpack leaf blower, string trimmer, and edger. They rule. The 7.5Ah battery lasts a long time under load. No clue how well the snowblower works but I’d work off the assumption that the fact that it still exists at all among gas snowblowers is proof positive

Important note is the snowblower takes 2 batteries though that’s generally not an issue as they will come with the snowblower. The 2 7.5Ah batteries will do a fairly large driveway without issue, with 8ā€ of wet snow.

Along these lines, don’t buy the recertified batteries off Amazon. We have one that came with our mower and one of the recerts - probably saved $30 over a new one - and it’s a piece of trash. Overheats constantly, thankfully it has built-in fail-safes for that but it essentially means you can’t use it for a prolonged period or it quits.
