I think 30 minute would be around her preferred max distance.
Appreciate everyone’s responses. Would be nice to move to MI and hopefully be welcomed into the Flock. Still very early and other interviews are scheduled elsewhere but we shall see.
Great circle, totally jives with my recollection of living in Troy circa 2007. Anything East or South of that was touch and go - good neighborhoods mixed in with tougher ones. North and West of Troy was more and more $$$$, in every aspect.
Just here to recommend living in the actual city, but I’m bias. Plenty of great spots in and around downtown if you’re into that. The neighborhood I live – Lafayette Park is about 15 minutes from either hospital in Grosse Pointe (I’ve been way too often), and living in the city rocks.
I’m a city guy, would prefer that but she’s ready for the 'burbs. Wants a nice fenced yard for the dog, a house, and growing up right on Lake Michigan, I think she’d like to live right on the water again…
We were on Eastburn, right down in the thick of it. My Grandma lived right across the street. She didnt move out of the neighborhood until probably the mid 90s.
This is a pretty solid outline. I’ll add that north of troy (rochester hills) is also great, but is probably getting outside the desired travel radius.
Also a little shoutout to ferndale, which is a great part of the world.
when we move, in 4 - 6 years, we are looking towards Rochester / Rochester hills / lake Orion. I need to be near water, and golf. and IMO Grosse Pointe(s) are too cramped for my liking.
