Blackheath is genuinely one of my favorite courses to play in the area. It get’s slammed though and they aren’t great about keeping tee times spaced apart enough so the pace can be brutal. But if you can find a good time to go, it’s definitely worth it.

Hi everyone… cool to meet Michiganders at the Tussle last weekend.
I already got some feedback from those I met, but I’d like some feedback on Lyon Oaks. I’m getting a free round there (I think from my vendor).
Also, I’m heading north eventually to the UP, but looking to join up on Friday July 14th. Was planning on Belvedere but it’s closed for Member-Guest. If there are Friday AM “practice rounds” for The East vs West, I wouldn’t mind joining

Man I could probably be convinced to play there on the 3rd, I have fuckall else going on and was planning on probably playing 3/5/7. Was thinking about trying for black Heath on the 7th since I’ve got a lesson down the street but could be convinced otherwise

@zeoalex I also have a lesson (finally) but mine happens to be on the 3rd at 10AM so I wouldn’t be able to get to Blackheath until the afternoon that day. Totally get it if you were hoping for something earlier in the day

Lyon Oaks is awesome. It’s THE standout of the Oakland County owned courses. It’s head and shoulders above the others. It’s one of the best public courses in the region for sure.

Hey Michigan folks. I’ve got a group of six driving from Pittsburgh to do a Grand Rapids trip August 3-6 and we’re hoping to play the UM course on our way up that Thursday, probably sometime in the mid afternoon. Would love to round out our threesomes with some refugees if any of you are interested and if you can help with the affiliated guest fee that’s obviously much appreciated!

Just finished up playing 54 holes at Bedford valley and the 2 stonehedge courses. Never sweated so much in my life. I hadn’t played there in probably 12 years. I enjoyed them, I wouldn’t call any of them incredibly memorable, just pretty typical upscale Michigan courses. Stonehedge north was definitely the best of the 3, but I’m biased since I tied my best round ever. Still haven’t been out to stoatin brae, need to get out there at some point.
