anyone want to play this weekend? im wide open all three days and back in the city. summer in northern michigan spoiled the sht out of me and got my index down to 4.6. looking to hit the range and enjoy some good courses.
I donāt believe heās still at Eisenhower, Iām sure I could locate him. Almost more curious about if people who have taken lessons with him would recommend him. From what I understand heās a bit of a throwback in that heās more feel based than overly technical.
Not sure if @OpenFace is still looking for a partner at Links at Unionvale (itās a hike for a city boy)
I am still looking for a partner.
Anyone have recommendations for a club fitter? Iām based in Manhattan and was leaning towards True Spec based on feedback in the club fitting thread but supporting a local shop would be a bonus. Have a car so donāt mind driving within an hour or so. 16 handicap playing 13 year old hand me down Callaway irons and various filler clubs from Callaway preowned. Not looking for anything exotic
Have heard great things about Novo Golf up around Palisades worth checking out
But a few guys in the metro chat have also recently been to true spec and had great experiences
I can second Novo Golf. I also loved Peteās Golf in Mineola, LI⦠itās been many years since going there but Pete is a great guy
I went to NY Golf and wasnāt a huge fan.
Yeah, same here and I abandoned the clubs they fit me into after a season, but it was also my first time and hadnāt found this group and had no idea what to expect (this was 4 years ago) but even on reflection the experience wasnāt great
Peteās Golf in Mineola would be your best spot. The fittings cost just north of $100 but theyāre the best in the business so in my mind itās well worth the cost. Theyāll ask what your budget is and give you every option that could potentially work.
i wish i could join. 1:40 drive means no from wifey. thanks tho
Tim McGann of metro custom golf. i think he used to be in manhattan but is now in westchester.
Another echo on Peteās Golf in Mineola, especially if youāre looking for a local shop vibe.
I might be the lone dissenter, but I didnāt have a good experience at Petes. But I acknowledge I am in the minority here.
I went to True Spec in June. It was a phenomenal experience and didnāt feel pressured at any point.
Iāve got nothing but great things to say about Zac at Club Champion in the 5i in Flatiron.
Interesting, just curious who fit you and what you didnāt like about it?
Iāve been to true spec for 2 sets of irons, all my woods and wedges and they are bar none. Go see Tyler there and shoot me a pm if you need more info
Bump.
