Roll Call: Massachusetts

Thanks for the input everyone. Will let you know if it pans out (hopefully!).

Dennis Highlands also stays open year-round, though only from forward tees.

Very niche question but does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for food/beverages/activities in or around Salem? Fiancée has lobbied for a day/weekend trip and I could use any sort of game plan

The next town over, Beverly, has several good breweries. Backbeat, Channel Marker, and Old Planters are great.

Also Gentile Brewing in Beverly is great. One of my closest friends owns it so I’m biased but it’s a fun spot.

It is an aaaalllll day affair but the course is worth it in my opinion.

No love for Cape Cod National?

I never understood this. Sankaty used to allow public in Oct and Nov and they stopped that too.

Playing Eastward Ho tomorrow for first time. Got invited by a client. Any advice?

I got a friend coming up for the red Sox game on Sunday. He will have time for one round in the Boston area, will be using Uber for transportation. Where should he play?

Yep - the land movement and turf conditions are incredible out there. A member will know where to find the speed slots, and they make the course so much fun. Also, stay below the pin on 4.

Assuming they’re staying in Boston, their best bets are probably George Wright, Franklin Park (William Devine) or Fresh Pond (9 holes). All within a reasonable uber ride. If they’re staying outside the city, that could change things.

No matter where your ball ends up on 6, walk to the peak of the hill in the fairway. You won’t regret it.

if you are like @mcriblet you’ll shoot lights out first time on the course. He was not scared of Eastward Ho!

This was my 2nd shot on the Par 4 1st hole.

I will be taking no questions on the rest of my round.

Hey folks - I will be in Lenox for a long weekend next weekend. Any recs on golf courses? I read the thread above and Waubeeka seems to be a popular vote, though that is ~45 min north. Curious if anything good closer to Lenox. Any and all recs on golf courses and non-golf activities / restaurants are appreciated. Thanks!

I highly recommend Greenock CC in Lee. Not far from Lenox at all. Awesome little Ross nine hole course. Played it back in June and it was in fantastic shape. Some really cool greens and a good layout. The head pro Ryan is a good dude too.

Thank you! Looks awesome and is ~10 minutes away. Love hidden gems like this. Any idea if I need to book a tee time in advance?
