Roll Call: Massachusetts

Olde Scotland is pretty fun and reasonably priced

Iā€™ll second Olde Scotland for that area. Country Club of Halifax is another really good one, though a bit pricier.

Yeah, thatā€™s a bit too far for him to drive. Ideally Iā€™d get a course close to where he is staying, or on his route to get back to New Jersey since he has to drive home after our morning round. I donā€™t want him to go out of his way.

Honestly it might be worth it to go a tiny bit out of your way for Pinehills. Only $65 for 18 starting next week.

Grab a tee time at Metacomet in Providence! 95 isnā€™t my preferred route from Boston to NJ but it gets you in the right direction

Edit: looks like thatā€™s the way heā€™d have to drive from Raynham anyway

Yeah seconded for Meatcomet, there isnā€™t really a better course for the price right now. Donā€™t know what the tee sheet looks like for the morning though. Olde Scotland is also good but itā€™s no Metacomet.

Another vote for Metacomet but if they are full there is Chemawa in North Attleboro. Not far off the highway and a little cheaper rate.

Appreciate the input everyone. I canā€™t see the tee sheet for Metacomet yet, but Pinehills looked pretty booked up for that morning, which means they probably have outings on both courses (not surprising).

So Metacomet is pretty good? Looks sweet from the website, and Iā€™m always up for a good Ross course.

Triggs on a weekday might get you something not many of us can get there, an under 5 hour round.

Really good. IMO the best course with public tee times within a 60 minute drive of Boston.

Metacoment is unreal. Some of the best greens Iā€™ve ever played

Wowā€¦Just looked up Metacoment. What an amazing looking place. I drove right by it last time I was in the area and didnā€™t even realize it. Itā€™s being added to my must place list for my next trip.

FYI it just opened up to the public this summer, it had been a private club for 100 years. I know theyā€™re not doing great financially but I assume they will stop selling tee times at some point in the future, I canā€™t imagine theyā€™ll be semi-private forever.

I was wondering why I keep getting blasted with emails about tee times, hearing they are in a tough financial situation makes more sense.

I think they bought the email list from Triggs.

Either that of one of the many clubs I sold out my email to at the Boston Golf Expo. Not questioning whether or not I deserved the spam, just thought they would have been above needing it because the few times I have played Metacomet they seemed to be doing well.

Thereā€™s almost no chance Iā€™ll be able to get there before spring, so hopefully they will remain semi-private a little longer.

ā€œThe club will remain private with limited daily fee play allowed at some points of the season.ā€

So thereā€™s some hope. I gotta get down there at some point too. Anyone know what weekend they usually close up shop for the winter? @Clarkebar or any other folks in the area?
