Worth bringing the sticks if just one round or could I rent? Up there for a wedding
Kind of a pain but I would just bring your clubs. I’m not aware of any courses with rentals available around here unfortunately.
much appreciated intel.
Closest course is my home course Cape Neddick. Not spectacular but 5min up the road from OGT and it’s a quirky little Donald Ross design.
it’s actually my sister and her hubby going. She went to school on Worcester and did a summer at a art retreat and is back for a friends wedding. now she’s into golf and low key woke. They play on every vacation. iceland, scotland, around the us now. girls is 5 months pregnant, and talking about playing golf in Maine while there for a wedding over 4 days. pure sicko.
Played The Ledges last year for a pre-wedding round and enjoyed it.
I would bring your sticks for sure.
Ledges is a tough track. I always enjoy playing it.
Have not been around these parts in a while, but if anyone’s interested in some outer Cape golf on Saturday June 8, we have five spots left for our outing at Chequessett and Highland Links. 12:30 start time at Chequessett, lunch, then 4 PM til sunset at Highland. Jump in if you’re interested!
Damn that looks fun. Don’t think I can make it, but definitely up for that Plymouth event. Southers is my favorite.
Love it. Will get back in here when we put that up for sale.
What up fellow Nesters!
I’m planning a golf trip to the Cape, MV, and Nantucket but wanted to see if anybody knows when these courses typically do their fall aeration? Ideally we’ll be heading that way in the third week of September to play The Cap Club, Farm Neck, Miacomet and Sankaty Head. Rumor has it SH opens to the public after Labor Day?
Anyway, I appreciate any information ya’ll are able to provide. Cheers!
If you have some free time I’d highly recommend going over to play Royal and Ancient Chappaquiddick. Place is the definition of low-key, all vibes golf. You’ll see guys playing barefoot. It’s absolutely the best. Play as long as many holes as you want.
I personally think Cape Cod Country Club is a more enjoyable course at less than half the cost compared to The Cape Club and they’re about a mile away from one another. Getting out to Sankaty Head is sick
Is Cape Cod CC open to the public? I don’t see tee times online.
I think you will still need your pro (if at a private club) to call for Sankaty Head even out of season. I played the weekend before MDW one year but still needed a call. Worth sending an e-mail or calling yourself though to find out what the deal is. Incredible place.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this course! I’ll add it to our list. Thanks!
Awesome. We can certainly do that.
Sure is, public can book 10 days in advance. I looped it twice this weekend, and it was in perfect condition.
Been fortunate enough to play most courses on the Cape, but one I haven’t gotten out on is Cape Cod National. Have an invite to an event there but its very pricey, for those who have played is it worth it overall?
I played it a couple years ago with two members and loved it. The course is tough but not ridiculous and the facilities are top notch. I didn’t pay, so I’m not sure about the value for what you’d have to pay, but I’d put it up there with Willow Bend or Wannamoisett.
