Now I’m definitely not going down there, the hell is that
I remember the starter telling me it was “target golf”. The widest part of the area they say you can hit driver to is 30 yards lol
It’s a par 5 that is like 500 yards and plays way downhill, it should be a great opening hole and a chance to get home in 2. Instead the smart play is just to hit 2 shots that are like 180-200 yards to set yourself up for a short 3rd shot, but that’s so incredibly boring on an opening hole.
You could say that about multiple holes on that course. #9 on that 9-hole loop is also incredibly stupid: Granite Links Course Tour
“Let’s make it a driveable par 4, but let’s put a 50 foot drop into a cavern immediately to the right of the green, and then let’s make the green really narrow is well. Let’s also put a giant slope in front of the green that goes towards the cavern so that even more people lose balls. Awesome!”
I birdied that stupid ninth hole through pure ignorance and stupidity. Which kind of describes how I play golf in general, I guess.
I’ve got an 11:20am tee time at Sandy Burr this Saturday with 3 open spots. Anyone want to join me?
Little repost from the WDYPTW thread. Lucky enough to get out on TCC last Sunday.
A couple Fernandos eased the pain of a 91 and a 44.
Fantastic course, did you play the standard routing or the champ routing?
Standard. We were gonna do Primrose so we could touch all holes in the composite routing but we decided to run the back 9 again with some $
Very jealous - TCC is my ultimate bucket list course in Massachusetts
Crossposting this for visibility:
Next Saturday the BTP Roost has an event at Breakfast Hill GC in New Hampshire. We’ve got the tee from 10:15-11:00. Cost is $71 for golf + a charity donation and admin fees. Another $26 if you want a cart. No need to be a member of the Roost to come out and play. A number of spots are still available, so join us and bring a friend!
Would that be saturday the 4th or saturday the 11th?
Saturday the 4th.
Ah too bad. BH is a fun course
Hey all, traveling to Boston for a conference in a couple weeks. I’ll have some time to explore the day I get there. Any recommendations on food, places to check out etc? Will be staying north of the Kendall Square, but most of my time will be at the Hynes Convention center.
Right across the Harvard bridge you can walk along the Esplanade and over to the public garden/boston common. Walking down Commonwealth ave is also nice. 2 spots I like in Kendall Square are Little Donkey and Roxy’s. Little Donkey if you’re a foodie, Roxy’s if you’re looking for something more casual and bit different (they have a barcade in the back which is a lot of fun).
Any course recs for Ogunquit area?
Cape Arundel in Kennebunkport is a must, but be aware summer rate is pricey. The Ledges in York and Links at Outlook in Berwick are both solid too.
Cape Arundel up the road a bit.
Edit: @GaryK8 beat me
